Kidnappers convicted in disappearance of Heather Elvis after love triangle – Everything Law and Order Blog

In this episode of Crime Watch Daily Updates: We’re taking a look back at the vanishing of Heather Elvis who disappeared from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Dec. 18, 2013.

Heather Elvis worked as a hostess at a popular Myrtle Beach restaurant, where she met the man that would be her undoing. At just 20 years old, Heather was smitten with maintenance man Sydney Moorer, nearly 18 years her senior. The two struck up a relationship, but Moorer had a secret, he was married. When his wife, Tammy Moorer, discovered the affair, she threatened Heather shortly before her disappearance.

While the Elvis family searched for answers, Heather’s body was never found. Finally, three years after the disappearance, Sydney and Tammy Moorer were charged in 2016. While the murder charges were dropped, the pair faced trial for kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping. But, in June of 2016, a jury couldn’t reach a verdict to convict Syney Moorer, with the judge declaring a mistrial.

Prosecutors pursued and the Moorer’s were tried again. In October of 2018, Tammy Moorer was found guilty of kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping for her part in the abduction of Heather and sentenced to 30 years in prison. Nearly a year later, in September of 2019, a jury convicted Sydney on kidnapping charges, sentencing him to 30 years. Sydney Moorer has tried to appeal his kidnapping conviction, but in May of 2022, the South Carolina Supreme Court denied his appeal.

Let’s take a look back at the Heather Elvis case and how her bright future disappeared.

  1. My prays go out to the family of Heather this is so sad can't even imagine what they going through Lord give this family peace and let them fine where there daughter is and the guy and his wife shouldn't be in Florida they should be locked up and throw the key away praying for justice to be served and the hidden things that are hidden in the dark let it come to light in the name of Jesus amen

  2. Don't touch married anything ! Marriage is so sacred. She should of listened and it is her fault. No body is needed; she

had most serious signs to turn around and walk away. Close this case and release the prisoners. Do not touch a sacred union.

  3. Her parents should have taught her that messing around with married men is a SEVERE NO NO. Its her fathers responsibility and duty to teach his kids ethic principles. Sad and tragic that he didnt. His daughter paid the price with her life, in the end.

  4. I think it's so sad that some people did that to that beautiful girl I hope they rot wherever they're at in prison because you know what they took and did something to a beautiful young lady God bless the parents and the sisters the whole family I'm sorry for your loss I know yesterday was 10 years I had never seen it over the years my heart it's so family in prayer always

  5. My heart goes out to her dad. When he breaks down its heartbreaking. I just want to give him a big hug when he breaks down. I am glad the Moores finally got caught and punished. Sidney was a nut staying with Tammy since she handcuffed him to the bed. No spouse has the right to do that.

  6. Tammy made a living by suing people and organizations.

    These people are disgusting.

I’d hate to have Tammy as a family member.

I feel sorry for Tammy and Sidney’s kids.

  7. Never get involved with a married man or a married woman. These secret affairs have bad consequences. For Heather, I feel sorry for her, and my heart goes out to her family, but having an affair with a married man who's almost twice her age was wrong. And for that despicable married man, cheating always ends badly. I'm sorry to say that some victims make bad choices and put themselves in bad situations in which they become victims. I wonder how and why a beautiful young woman like Heather got involved with an older married man. I don't believe it was love.

  8. What a scumbag couple. We all know they did it. There aren’t any other suspects. That crazy woman threatened her multiple times. I love how she thought she was like his #1 ohhh that must have eaten her up inside knowing he didn’t choose her. I mean… what a healthy relationship, what a level headed woman that is to handcuff him to the bed. Just let the vile man go. I have a sneaking suspicion it was all because of that crazy wife. She looks crazy.

  9. Sydney has proven himself to be a convict just lying POS non trustworthy can't believe a word he says can't stand him and his crooked mouth. Sydney and Tammy are nasty.

  10. I know this is absolutely awful but I feel like Sydney needs to be confined and we need to waterboard Tammy to find out exactly what the what the hell happened

  11. Wate wate something is Not Right About a Sidney case Even if you're guilty or not it makes me sick how people trying to offend their only self knowing that there's a missing person out there and no one has the opportunity to jump in and volunteer to help whether if you're guilty or not I will like time out I'm not going to think about me we have to go find a missing person immediately and search For Heather ElvisIt just makes me sick how people only thinks about themselves knowing that wait hollow wake up there's a missing person out there and nobody wants to volunteer they're only about themselves as said what's all good a group of people and go look for missing person that needs to be the biggest picture

  12. Tammy and Sydney are ugly pos whit# trash&. No morals or values, couldn't let it go..and slime bag going after a beautiful young girl confused then killing her we should have public hangings for ppl like them. RIP Heather.
