Reality check…defense attorneys are defending an innocent person about 4% of the time; the other 96% of the time they're defending a guilty person who in fact did commit the crime. We all have a right to a fair trial. What is shameful is when an innocent person takes a plea deal because they're afraid.
Disappointed that they didn't said that the reason they defend a criminal is to ensure, even if all evidence points towards them, that they get a fair trial. And in the words of Cicero, if someone is to be put to death, let's make sure that is rightfully done.

It's so ironic that you speak of your brother being killed by a train when you were younger which prompt you to become a lawyer. I lost my brother 4 months ago to begin hit by a train. The area of train tracks he crossed over has a damaged fence of which has been reported to the railroad company some time back. To date the repairs haven't been done. The family's goal is that the fence is reported and that those responsible held accountable. There should be a railroad community that inspects, report and hold those responsible to higher standards for the safety and well-being of others.

I wonder how differently the defense attorney feels about prosecutors now. I imagine he can spot a dirty one from miles away.
There has never been a more important time in human history for people to ask serious questions about what is really making humanity sick. We simply accept that influenza is caused by a virus because we have been conditioned to believe it is so. It’s unfathomable to most people that there could be any other rational explanation, so naturally, there is a resistance when this topic is brought up. Instead of questioning our reality, we simply take the words of men in white coats or those in positions of power, as gospel. Is it possible influenza is caused by a virus? Yes, of course. Is there any solid scientific evidence to prove that it is the cause? It’s possible that this evidence does exist, however in over 2 years of searching, neither myself, nor hundreds of other medical professionals and scientists who have looked in to this topic, have come across such evidence. Now is the time for humanity, science and medicine to start thinking outside of the box when it comes to germ theory. We need to be able to have open and honest intellectual discussions about this topic to try and find out what really makes us sick. If we continue to believe that a germ is the cause when it (possibly) isn’t, we will always be barking up the wrong tree, resulting in continued declining health, ineffective treatments and prevention strategies, and continued intrusion upon basic human rights and freedoms, all in the name of "stopping the spread". Until the true underlying cause is identified and dealt with, it will continue bubbling away, insidiously destroying humanity, hidden behind the veil of an outdated and obsolete theory of the “germ”.

That was great, I am so pleased that there are ethical lawyers out there. I clearly dont know much about it. But I really pray that the right people are punished for the crimes that happen. Not just the convenient ones. I dont get the tv shows because I am in Australia, but I would think it is a great service to educate people in this way. What I really know is the way people are so ready to judge/jury/ and throw someone under the bus, just to follow the crowd, without having really thought hard and long about what really occurred. That is criminal in my opinion. Thanks for sharing this.

So as a defence attorney how many guilty people did you get off…how many guilty criminals did you get off on technically? And the 1-4% you talked about is a worthless estimate, not a fact you tried to make it sound like. Has anyone you got freed ever committed another or worst offence?
