Bodycam: Woman Wearing Costume Blows Through Stop Sign Before DUI Arrest – Everything Law and Order Blog

In this video, police bodycam footage shows Washington law enforcement officers pulling over 22-year-old Maggie Rush after reportedly observing her driving in a manner that raised concerns. The officers state that Rush had failed to stop at a stop sign, which led to the initiation of the traffic stop. When the officers approach the vehicle and speak with Rush, she informs them that she is driving her boyfriend’s car and does not have any paperwork or her driver’s license with her. The officers also note that Rush’s eyes appear glossy and that she is displaying signs that may indicate impairment.

The officers then proceed to administer field sobriety tests to evaluate Rush’s level of intoxication. The bodycam footage captures Rush having difficulty maintaining her balance and stumbling during the tests, which the officers interpret as potential evidence of her being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Based on their observations and the results of the field sobriety tests, the officers decide to place Maggie Rush under arrest for driving under the influence (DUI).

  1. Pullman, WA is where Washington State university is located, very small town in Idaho-Washington border.. real party school. I’m an alumni there & if this was 10 years ago they wouldn’t even ask her questions and yank her out.. wow, things have changed.

  2. These officers need to let people drive. Why stop them. If they say they are being honest then they should leave it at that. She clearly said and she promised. Why continue?

  3. It’s nice to see one not be an insufferable brat. She went without a fight. Get straightened out young lady, everybody makes mistakes but this is not one you want to repeat!!

  4. This is exactly how everybody should behave when getting arrested!! I don’t want to say I’m proud of this girl cause she absolutely made a bad decision to drive intoxicated, but I am very proud of the way she chose to behave, and extremely proud that she didn’t try and blame the cops

  5. I like how this cop explains the FST. He told her at the beginning the test includes how well the person listens to instructions as well as the physical test. I haven't heard anyone else say that and that's a big part of the test. He also explained that putting your right foot in front of the left to begin with is the starting point of the walk and turn letting her know that's also part of the test. I wish every cop did that.

  6. Rare to see one officer handling everything with no backup, including the search, which I thought had to be done by a female officer. Ay any rate, also rare to see such good co-operation, attitude, and acceptance of being in the wrong.
