Father Speaks Out: The Tragic Murder of Chad O’Melia and the Controversial Sentencing

In a tragic incident that occurred in 2018, Chad O’Melia was brutally stabbed 108 times by Bryn Spejcher, a woman he had been dating for a short period, at his condo in Sherman Oaks, California. Following the vicious attack, Spejcher also turned the knife on herself, inflicting self-harm. Experts involved in the case concluded that Spejcher was suffering from “Cannabis-Induced Psychosis” at the time she committed the heinous act, which ultimately claimed O’Melia’s life.

Last month, the case reached its conclusion in court, where a judge handed down a sentence of two years probation and community service to Spejcher.
