Gilgo Beach Murders: DNA from Suspect’s Wife Found at Crime Scene – Everything Law and Order Blog

Hair from Rex Heuermann’s wife Asa Ellerup was reportedly found on burlap used to wrap multiple female victims in Long Island, according to law enforcement sources. The Law&Crime Network’s Jesse Weber sits down with forensic DNA expert Tiffany Roy to analyze how her DNA could have gotten there and what it means for the case.

  1. Remember this girl Shannan freed herself and called the cops saying these people are trying to kill me, then the line went dead, so it’s possible there were more people involved

  2. Don’t forget this girl Shannan got away and called the cops and she said these people are trying to kill me, so why did she mention the word these, I believe she was involved

  3. All she had to do was check his computer. I am sure if she suspected anything she would have researched his computer or phone. Surely if she was away a lot she would have been in contact with him to find out how he was if he was at work etc.? She must have had suspicions if not then she might have been involved some way. Wives and partners get a gut feeling when things in the relationship are not going as they should. Society does not want to believe that a person or persons could be involved in something so horrific. There are evil people out there.

  4. I mean, really, if he is in the house with his wife, it is extremely possible her hair is on his clothing, which then was transferred to the crime scene. I doubt his wife was at the crime scene? The police are getting a little far gone with this genealogy. Why not just arrest the whole family. Do you know how many times they have convicted people with this dna and are wrong!

  5. The circumstances of the hair being in the Burlap sack are hypothetical, the sack could be from the area where they live, Elirup could have had contact with the sack in the past, as long as the exact facts aren't known, anything said about the hair being found in the sack is speculative, not defending Huerman, but he was deemed guilty before he had even stepped inside a Courtroom on no more than circumstantial evidence, "rule of law" should still hold some meaning, right ?

  6. Please someone respond to me. How is this different from the previous evidence that caught him? I’m referring to how the wife’s DNA was also on some of the victims and that also factored into how they caught him

  7. She was out of town when the women disappear but we don't know where she was when the body's was discarded. So maybe she was present when the body's was prepared for beeing dumped. I don't think she doesn't knew and doesn't participated in some way. She must be put through interrogation.
