Bodycam: Cops Admit They Have ‘Wrong Guy,’ Arrest Him Anyway – Everything Law and Order Blog

Silvester Hayes, a 27-year-old father, found himself in a shocking and distressing situation when Dallas police pulled him over while he was driving to get food for his children in October 2021. Body camera footage from the incident reveals a case of mistaken identity, as officers confused Hayes with a wanted domestic violence suspect due to the similar spellings of their first names. Despite Hayes’ attempts to clarify the situation, the encounter quickly escalated into a violent arrest, leaving him traumatized and facing unwarranted consequences.

In the aftermath of the incident, Hayes has taken legal action against the Dallas Police Department, filing a lawsuit that alleges two counts of excessive force and one count of unlawful arrest. He is seeking a jury trial, punitive damages, and attorney’s fees to hold the officers accountable for their actions and to seek justice for the physical and emotional trauma he endured. The Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie provides a detailed analysis of the disturbing video footage, shedding light on the troubling circumstances surrounding Hayes’ arrest and the importance of addressing issues of police misconduct. 1. After all this man went through it was just another injustice that this channel doxxed his name & DOB… which they should have beeped-out. It's why I rarely watch this channel. I rarely watch this channel for their lack of responsibility to the victims. Name & DOB are all a criminal needs for identity theft.

  2. Why don't we start using the same force against them as they use against us?? This is what you get for voting paying n obeying!! Then we gotta be forced to pay the lawsuit too??? Is this public service?? We should all be ashamed of ourselves for allowing any of this!!!!

  3. at 18:34 this guy tried acting like wanting an answer to why your going to the backseat of a cop car during a traffic stop is crazy so instead of giving him the answer they started forcing him out the car 🤦🏾‍♂️

  4. I definitely feel for him, but if he just complied and stepped out and did everything they would have eventually realized…. not making excuses for the officer at all ; but resisting will literally accomplish nothing. The cops won't just suddenly stop if they believe they are in the right. If it was unlawful, we have a remedy. COURT. So just put up with the crap, and then sue like crazy!
