  1. I'm not clear on why any doctor or nurse is surprised or shocked by a 10 year old in pain and on a load of meds might curse or scream. My 8 year old got really mad and shouted and cursed at me. Yes, it was totally inappropriate and he was "redirected" with his language, but kids do know those words and their affects.

  2. Mr Anderson is a dirty scoundrel, a low down dog. The way he's treating that nurse, and misrepresenting evidence. It boggles my mind that the jury fell for this, and actually awarded them that much money. Just wow. Obscene. I mean, yes, social services was completely out of line, but good luck getting them in front of a judge. The hospital, however, was not liable at all, and i believe the actual hospital staff were truly trying to care for Maya and realized how dangerous Beata was.

  3. I can't believe the jury actually awarded these scam artists 260 million dollars!! This is outrageous. Beata was out of control. I will be surprised if Maya survives this 260 million. Sounds like she's a junkie.

  4. Finally got Cathy Bedy on the stand & Mr.Anderson botched the whole questioning process. Mr.Whitney is the one who should've been asking the questions. Anderson is not a good lawyer at all. He's the most disorganized lawyer I've ever seen. Constantly shuffling papers trying to find find exhibits. Can't remember what he's asking about. He's horrible. I'm just glad the won the case despite all this.

  5. I am blown how the plaintiff has won on every count. In fairness, the hospital made some blunders in their treatment of the family and Maya. Some of the witnesses from the defence were not great…ie Levy. However, it is crystal clear (and I worked in healthcare for a decade) that Beata had a severe mental health issue and she exasperated Mayas condition. The frustration in some of the witnesses is completely understandable.

  6. I feel like the defense didn't really think this through. You're going to present that Maya was swearing like a sailor, throwing things, and just being a general heathen one minute but when she's forced to take pictures, according to Bedy, it goes "really well"? At least try to make the story believable. Night and day difference between Bedy's testimony and Maya's.

  7. It is abundantly clear that the staff’s main goal was to punish Beata, rather than help or ‘save’ Maya. Maya was their weapon of punishment. Beady and Smith tag teamed to drive Beata into the ground. If their focus was really Maya, she would have had daily intensive therapy 1) to determine if their suspicions were correct, 2) to help a child psychologically through a forced separation from her family. Disgusting and I’m glad the family was awarded what they were. I hope it survives all appeals.
