The family of Maya Kowalski, the subject of Netflix’s “Take Care of Maya,” allege that a report of child abuse from Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital led to Beata Kowalski taking her own life. The Kowalski’s are suing doctors, the Department of Children and Families, and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital for $200 million dollars in connection to Beata’s death. According to court documents, the child abuse case against Beata was pushed forward after Maya’s physician confirmed her condition, complex regional pain syndrome, was not the fault of her parents. During the time Beata was separated from Maya, she took her own life.

That lady in pink is lyingggg 😂
"Not my place to counsel a child" But she feels it is her place to basically diagnose her. Look how happy Jack is after his lawyer just crushes the nurses story.
Show me the 10 year old little girl that doesn't push through with a smile for others and then melt as soon as they see their mommy. This lady is resentful
TBH – To be honest – following a break after saying she didn't know when it started, doh!
The judge seems impatient with Maya’s Law Team. Perhaps I am seeing it wrong. This is disappointing behavior. There is also plainly unprofessional comments to Maya’s team. Ms. Creels interrupts way too much and gets away with it not to mention she doesn’t have anything to add many times. The JHACH lawyer with the gray hair that sits in the back and the judge seems favorable to him. I may be wrong, but thank you for a place raptor share them. I apologize if I am out of line. Thank you.
i!i!i!i!
Jury must have zoned out during the defenses case on this one. I can't believe the family won on this one.
Actually watching this trial, and the defense case, along with all of the inconsistencies of the families case, the family was way in the wrong. How did they manage to win this?
Aww, Bonnie Rice seems truly genuine, kind, & super intelligent.
Wow. Mr.Anderson.. I'm impressed. Really brought your A game with the cross examinations & objections today.
I cannot believe their whole defense is "She was faking it."
Maya had the terrible luck of having so many cruel or callous people as part of her legal/medical team.
It must be a prerequisite to be miserable and condescending to work at this hospital.
all these JH witnesses say over and over it was a psych problem… yet no one did a proper psych eval?
they all suspected MBP (way too immediately imo) but didn't do the full and proper evals. just continued to keep them seperate with no true action.
They all say "it's too much ketamine" while in the next breath saying they've never done continuous infusion, or CRPS/chronic pain doses, or admitting they don't even know anything about the drug
So many contradictions and inconsistencies from so many angry, defensive witnesses that didn't properly document the care they SAY they administered. If you were actually doing your job, or cared about your patients, or wanted the best for them, stand by it without the angry balktalk or snide commentary.
I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which one consultant suggested he also thought Maya had. I sit cross-legged as my default position. I’m also a wheelchair user in crippling pain. People with hypermobility find comfort in various positions. Also the fact it keeps being mentioned she could move around – no one has claimed she was paralysed. Also you can’t see pain. I very rarely mention my pain unless I absolutely have to, or it’s relevant.
A gold star to the jury for the TBH question and the issue with the delivery of the dress! Love it! ⭐️
OMG, this woman is a piece of work. I wonder if the Defense is sorry they called her… they should be.
I don't believe the last deposition
Hope the Laleh Bahar Posey went to heaven….I feel sorry for anyone working at John Hopkins hosp….
Ugh Tori Neihus came on with a clear agenda and the second Mr. Anderson even asked her a question, her back went up. She just wanted to state her opinion of the whole situation, which was what she heard and did not want to be questioned. She took this very personal when he questioned her. She was extremely confrontational. Very hard to watch and to listen to her try and scramble when she was caught in all of her lies. How do you even ask all of those questions on a visit with her family? That’s their time! She is a sick and twisted woman! She did the defense no favors by testifying. She actually just confirmed that most of these workers didn’t speak from their own experience, they went off of what the hospital notes said. I love that the jury asked if she was paid because they saw what so many of us saw. Even paid witnesses don’t act the way she did. It was hysterical to see her run off the second they said there were no more questions. She couldn’t handle being in the hot seat. That’s why you shouldn’t lie! You wouldn’t feel so defensive.
see a very good comment, seams need more people to see."if Maya acted worse or sick only when her mother was around then why are there all these vids and pics of Maya doing extremely well after Mexico around her mother. Beata was taking these pics and vids"
Poor Maya was the one in the middle of all this "adult world" rules and regulations set up by DCF and the hospital.
Sometimes I think the judge is bias against the plaintiff lawyers. We they try to read from a exhibit and seem to be leading a witness they get shut down by the judge, but when the defense lawyers do it they get an overruled by the judge.
A lot of back noise it sounds like someone's playing pool. Lol😅
5:50:00 i not always like anderson, but dear lord, here he did something that i like to call "burned the witness"
i use this term when, a cross examination goes so bad for the witness, that the other side doesnt even ant to touch that witness any longer, notice how after anderson destroyed this woman, her side doesnt even want to try and salvage something, they know that if they go further with this witness they will only damage themselvs, so what they want THE MOST is for her to be OUT OF THE WITNES STAND as soon as possible.
i know that the pink shrit lesbian is a lier about maya pain, because even of just hearing her voice i am aready in pain XD
So we're supposed to believe that the case worker who comes across as monotone with barely any inflection was suddenly super chipper and saying "sweetie" on the phone call? Seriously?
It just gets worse. The supervisor of the visits was very set in her opinion. I feel so bad for Maya. Why didn't they just put her in a cage with bread and water? They took SO much from her!
This so call lady that is a lawyer. She is a joke
Who are all these random uneducated halfwits
All these clowns thought they were dealing with some illiterate immigrants and they could do whatever they wanted
This lady in the pink shirt attitude completely changed when the plaintiff started questioning her. Argumentative and aggressive 🤔
That witness is NASTY!
Kids Prison Guards with American accreditations.
How many of these female defendants witnesses are undivorced or mothers?
Charlotte Laporte, what a doll 🤨Her bright blue nails are so attractive.
Prime example of the agenda-driven “professionals” that our colleges and universities are putting out into our communities. Appalling.
