Nearly one month since 41-year-old Ruby Franke and her business partner were charged with six counts of aggravated child abuse, new shocking developments have surfaced in the case. Franke’s 12-year-old son was allegedly held captive in Jodi Hildebrandt’s home, duct taped alongside his sister, and starved before escaping to a neighbor’s home who said he was “covered in wounds.” The Law&Crime Network’s Jesse Weber breaks down the top seven most disturbing developments in Franke and Hildebrandt’s case since their arrest.

  1. What haunted me was one video Ruby made where she aggressively claimed that her children don’t deserve any form of privacy under her care.

  2. I thin most would be uncomfortable with a 6 year old not getting to eat lunch. Is bothersome that she didn't and it was HER child.

  3. Just the emotion in the man's voice who called 9-1-1, tells you what kinda shape this kid was in. These women are EVIL and there's a special place for women like these, who mistreat children in their care.

  4. Kudos to Adam Steed for recognising the abuse, knowi g that his church was the root of it and speaking out against her. I hope he turns his future into a happier one ❤ 17:18

  5. Its honestly not hard to believe the father didn't know about it. The mother could have started doing it after they separated. And we all know how bitter mother's are. They will literally hold their kid hostage from the father

  6. Most of this stuff develops through immorality. Many people in LDS church use shame against one another when their strict rules are broken. I am LDS and I love my religion, but this is an issue in our church that makes us vulnerable to manipulation.
That being said, Jody should never get out of prison. Ruby should spend a couple decades there to keep her away from any children or grandchildren. And the husband needs to be kept away from his kids who he clearly sees as objects. How he’s escaped prison, I don’t know!
Side note: The LDS church has outgrown itself. Needs to stop all its financial investments and colleges and get back to its roots.

  7. I hope those children are able to heal. The damage to their little bodies from starvation. The emotional damage… I can’t even image.

  8. Why does Kester speak in past tense when talking about how Kevin "loved" his children? Does the father of these abused kids no longer love them? I hope they keep both parents far away from the children. What kind of father is told to move out by a "therapist" and say, okay, bye?

  9. Why didn't the aunts and uncles.. cousins.. grandparents..
father.. family doctor.. immediate neighbors ask about these abused children?

  10. Wait, so I'm a little behind of what's going on where is the husband and where is the rest of the kids? I know some of them are adults but are there with their dad are they living on their own now? I have so much questions.
