North Salt Lake police have released dashboard camera video (above) showing the moment a Utah Transit Authority FrontRunner train crashed into a FedEx truck Saturday morning. According to UTA, a preliminary investigation shows the crossing gates were up and the flashing lights and bells that normally indicate a train is approaching were not active. “In the event of a power outage or lack of signal, crossing gates are programmed to default to the “down and active†position as a safety precaution.
Preliminary information indicates the gates were affected by the severe ice and snow conditions at the time and were in the default “down and active†position, as they are programmed. After an employee responded to the location, the gates moved to the up position. The agency has never had an accident like this before, and UTA is investigating why and how it happened to ensure it doesn’t occur again,” UTA wrote in a statement released Tuesday. There were no serious injuries in the accident.

And the dark suv just drives past as if nothing happens….Amazing!!!
No wonder my juicer is missing
Ya looks like a Fail
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣ðŸ‘
LOL
No rr lights or gates come down. Not good
Where is my package? I've been waiting a month…
I wonder if he got fired.
WOW i was sure at first that the first truck would get hit, but no. That train almost hit both trucks! Obviously FedEx needs to improve locomotive-encounters training!
Completely shears the trailer in half. Amazing view
lmfao !
PARCELS DELIVERED TO DESTINATIONS AT THE EARLIEST ….🤣🤣
Shipping update: Running behind schedule
That's going to be a major lawsuit
Very nice gates …thay have to pay for all that
This is in Salt Lake City, Utah 🤣
You can clearly see the maintenance truck with his hazard lights on parked on the opposite side of the railroad. The guy probably was working on the box and had to manually turn the gaurds down when something happens like that. Those railroad flaggers get paid over $200/hr out here in Utah. And most of them in the summertime get a camp chair and umbrella and post up right there at the crossroad to manually close the guards 🤣 that guy probably got fired
Poor internet connection, that barrier was buffeting… 😀
“Sir the reason you package is late was due to a train obliterating the Trailerâ€
wtf? is the idiot blind, swift &, FedEx the biggest joke out on the road…PERIOD
Fed Ex truck on the right went straight to nearest gas station to buy lottery tickets,,he felt lucky that day.
POV: you were expecting the other truck to get hit
I was watching the wrong Truck
You should Always look both ways before crossing railroad tracks 🤔. I learn that in CDL school in 2017
Call OSHA 🤧
That’s why you look both ways when coming to a road or railroad crossing. Heck, most of the railroad crossings where I’m from only have a sign, no lights or anything.
I thought truck like this supposed to stop before crossing a rail road 🤔
Train conductor to fed ex driver… Do you wanna go early home today?… Fed ex driver.. Yes. of course
Train conductor … Say no more
I guess my package won't be on time.
As a professional driver you should always look when approaching a railroad crossing just for that reason alone
Inconciente le ganaron el paso
I thought truckers were supposed to stop and look for this reason
I imagine they sued the train compa y considering the railroad equipment malfunctioned … always look both ways and use your Four way Flashers
📦 📦 📦 📦 📦 Where are they?
Did he look at all?
Career GONE! unavoidable accident
looks like there's another train coming lights just went on
Failed warning lights um looks like a law suit !!
FedEx driver is retired after the lawsuit against the city.
why didnt the gates go down??
Timing is everything! At least we know why the packages were late!
My 10 piece China set just turned into a 100 piece
I feel sorry for whatever railroad company gets that bill.
Now I know why I haven't gotten my shit yet from FedEx
“Schedule delivery pendingâ€
The cop stopped he seen what was going down nothing nobody could do . But with that weather and circumstances I would have looked for a train before crossing. But I'm old school what do I know.
I guess the fed ex driver got fed up with driving in the snow
railroads have managed to get nearly all of the safety features removed around their tracks while increasing speed limits for trains and this is the result of it.
The polls come down after train and accident. This was not their fault..smdh
Wow again
Awe! Right here in good ol' Salt Lake City! Dumb SOB!! 😡 He didn't even look! 🙈 Damn good thing the Front Runner wasn't derailed!
