Sheriff Bob Gualtieri fired a deputy Friday afternoon for using excessive force against a woman, during a traffic stop. The traffic stop happened March 25 at 9:40 p.m. Deputy Wayne Wagner stopped a truck at the Mobile gas station along 4th Street North in St. Petersburg. Sheriff Gualtieri said his deputy lied about what happened during that traffic stop that lead to a woman being charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence. “If you don’t tell the truth, you don’t work here. It’s that simple,” Sheriff Gualtieri said. Based on surveillance video, there is no question in Sheriff Gualtieri’s mind that Deputy Wagner did not tell the truth about what happened that night after Paige Taylor stepped out of the truck. “Look at them clearly and look at her actions and his actions. He claims, at this point, that he was shoved by her,” Sheriff Gualtieri said.
The sheriff said the deputy lied on the report even charged Taylor with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence. “It was clear to anybody watching it that there was no contact (and) that there was no push. There was no shove. There wasn’t anything,” Sheriff Gualtieri said. The charges were dropped against Taylor. Her attorney told that the surveillance video was critical in this case and said she hopes this does not happen to anyone else. During Wagner’s time with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, he was praised for his work with the DUI Unit. He was also disciplined, suspended for violating the department’s pursuit policy. Then today, he was fired for use of excessive force and falsifying a police report. “In any career field, in any profession, you’re going to have the bottom 1 percent and the bottom 1 percent do things wrong and sometimes that bottom 1 percent cover up and lie about it,” Sheriff Gualtieri said.

If a male suspect does that he gets the exact same treatment but since is a female suspect we fire the cop for treating everyone equally regardless of race or gender
That's the type of cop that would be a absolute pleasure to slap the shit out of.
Twice a day for a week ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
Harass deserve that one
She barely touched him, he went a little crazy for sure. Then he lied in his report about it? Yup, FIRED!
Yeah that's excessive. I bet he beats his wife too.
Fired? Why??
Glad he was fired. Needs to criminally charged with assault as well. And people in positions of power should have their sentences and penalties doubled when they egregiously abuse said power.
cant say i blame him
Another entitled Biatch eats the cement. It's really amazing to me how these folks act when spoken to by a police officer.
I don't see excessive force here !
Great example of how to act when an officer is using excessive force. She didn’t fight or get angry and in the end she won.
Los policÃas tratan con puro delincuente desobediente
I feel like the take down was justafied but the under arrest for battery I think is odd.
That was excessive????????? Fucking how
Excessive Force Against A Woman watches other USA police videos when they empty magazine on a naked person and tells the body not to move.
What happened…is there some more video ? Where is the police brutality ?
I didn’t see much for him to get fired she purposely caught an attitude and shoved him with her body
She snatched her phone from him?
Good thing this DUMBASS cop got fired. There's enough problems with good officers continuing to do their job's correctly without bullshit scrutiny. This punk deserved to lose his badge!
And then at the end, he's all trying to look macho to the female police officers?!?! Come on bro! This isn't HS!
Agree…it was unecessary and excessive
Liar!
The lady asked for it.
Excessive force only because she's a woman. Fucking Asshole for lying though.
I don't see it.
We're in a fight, my ass. That's an assault.
Lady, if you get out of the car like that towards any other police officer they would've thrown you to the ground. The reason being ,they have no idea what type of weapon you have, what your intention is and if they'll be able to walk their daughter down the aisle one day or end up bleeding out in that parking lot that night. So yeah this was a stupid move by that citizen. Done with complete arrogance.
He didn't do anything apart from arrest her exactly the way they are trained to when someone comes at them aggressively, may not be extremely aggressive but she definitely wasn't being compliant!! If that was a white person he would still have his job!!
She clearly shoves his hands away. This sherrif Gualtieri is a fucking idiot and he's def wrong, or blind.
Damn that truck needs oil.
No you'll shouldn't be mad at the cop. The women I believe touched the officer.. rewatch
But the next time tase her, don't hug her..
F the police
Don't be a snappy bitch. Getting fired for that was very harsh. Maybe a written warning and fine is enough.
After she slammed her door, she assaulted him, and then resisted arrest.
I would have liked to see and hear what led up to him unhinging  on her he shouldn't have done that but I bet she pushed him to his limit for doing his job they are only human
For the fucking dipshits that mock BLM, this is the kind of bullshit that makes BLM relevant.
There WAS contact, because she grabbed her license out of his hands. She certainly didn't shove him though.
black privilege. No laws apply, sue the city after breaking the law.
She turned her back to him and started walking away. Couldn't he have just pulled his Tazer out and said something like "Stop. Or I'm going to taze you? Why not wait for backup? 10 seconds later and the appropriate female officer backup arrived.
Muh equal rights. But imma a woman
Agree…it was unecessary and excessive
