About twelve hours after offing his cellmate Ted Dyer, Steven Sandison calmly walked up to a prison guard and told him what he had done. Despite having violently murdered his girlfriend in 1991, Sandison didn’t have a reputation as a troublemaker behind bars — and at first the guard didn’t believe him.

Sandison wasn’t playing.

Millions of people have heard a three-minute excerpt of Sandison’s confession, but only a handful of people have heard the uncut recording.

Let’s change that. Meet Steven Daniel Sandison.

  1. “People think I’m a hero, and I’m not.” Yes you are sir. Yes, you definitely are!

  2. At 23:28 I think it sounds like the cop interviewing him is almost trying to talk him into taking it to a trial. As though maybe he wants it to be advertised to child rapists that this is what happens when you finally get caught.

  3. I’m a little high at the moment… so please excuse me… but what if 10 or 20 years from now a video surfaces online of the rape victim hugging this guy
    Like what are the odds?

  4. I believed Mr. Sandison when he said that what irritated him the most is the rapist denying what he was convicted of, he seems to truely despise dishonesty, and that's evident in his ruthless honesty.

  5. He needs to be pardoned, he did a fantastic service to the community. We need more people like this guy. I hope that it hurt.

  6. This guy is an anti-hero!

You did what any father would have done given the chance.

No judgment against you for this. He deserved it!

  7. The link to put money in his account should be in here. As a father of a daughter, I am happy this is the consequence for these pieces of shit.

  8. It obviously hasnt happened like this dude's saying it did.
By the sounds of it, he's just come behind him whilst he was sleeping n has strangled him to death, rather than had a confrontation with him, which is why the cop is asking about what he was wearing etc.

  9. You did right. Thank you for being man enough to do it & for not cowering to what actually happened. I guarantee you earned respect!
    Nothing but respect from me!

  10. People here thanking him for killing a child molester, while this fella violently killed someone's daughter in 1991 just because he was annoyed about the fact his girlfriend talked too much. No point in any thanksgiving here. Both terrible crimes, both deserved to be locked up. And he's not a hero. He's probably killed him just cause he probably knew it will give him a huge credit boost amongst prisoners, which is needed for him while he's serving a lifetime sentence.

  11. This guy is not a hero. He's serving life in prison for murdering his girlfriend. He doesn't become a good person just for murdering someone else.
