He took off at a HIGH RATE OF SPEED.. he went from 0 to the speed limit in a short amount of time.. not that he broke the speed limit, his getting from 0 to the speed limit was too quick for the officer.. not that he had broken the law..

I mean, peeling out at a light and get to 40mph in 2 seconds vs accelerating at a normal rate and getting to 40 are actually completely different scenarios…normally I don't defend the cops cuz I think they are all A-holes, but his description made complete sense to me, however, I don't know about the law regarding this scenario.

In Morristown, NJ I got a careless driving ticket for pulling out on a wet/icy road and my tires broke free from the road surface … in other words, a silent burn out. Naturally the ticket was thrown out of court but never underestimate the power of stupidity as a inconvenience or money maker …
