Georgetown County, South Carolina — Attorneys representing the family of a man fatally shot in February by a Hemingway police officer released the dashcam footage from the shooting. Dashboard camera video shows former Hemingway police officer Cassandra Dollard, 52, slipped and fell before fatally shooting Robert Junior Langley, 46. On Feb. 6, Dollard saw a silver car traveling west on Andrews Street in Hemingway and failed to stop for a stop sign, according to a police report. Dollard wrote that she activated her lights but Langley continued to drive away, failing to stop for a red light at the intersection of West Broad Street and North Main Street.

The video, shows the vehicle chase coming to an end after Langley’s vehicle ran off the road and crashed into what appears to be a utility pole. After some attempted communication, it shows officer Dollard approaching the vehicle and ultimately shooting Langley as he tried to exit through a passenger door. The video also shows her attempt CPR on Langley as she tells him EMS is en route. Officer Dollard, 52, was taken into custody Feb. 9 on the manslaughter charge after an investigation conducted by SLED. She was released from jail the following day on $150,000 bail.

  1. That’s okay, I’m sure the Thin Blue Line mafia will “investigate” and clear her of any wrongdoing. Either she gets stuck at a desk pushing paperwork or loses her job but gets to be hired at another police department. Either way, a man is dead and her pension is probably protected either way. 😬

  2. Just know that this is what you're going to get if you continue the "defund the police" push. You'll get nothing but individuals not fit for the job, whether it's physically, mentally, or emotionally.

  3. You can't shoot someone because you are scared. The last police officer that grabbed the wrong gun was charged with murder. I bet the same thing doesn't happen here

  4. I wanna know who’s idea it was to let this big fat lady be sworn in as a law enforcement officer… they should also be fired

  5. Some talk here about trigger finger discipline and I would agree. Fun fact: some departments have actually taught to keep the finger ON the trigger. Los Angeles County Sheriff did this until they recently changed pistols. Was called "on target on trigger". This was when the Beretta 92SF was standard issue. When the department switched there was an increase in accidental discharges in LASD. They called it training scares. After being "on target on trigger" for years or decades it hard to suddenly NOT do that anymore.

  6. Why is she doing CPR while the guy is still breathing? I have never seen anyone do this type of miracle treatment of chest compressions and ordering the patient to breathe at the same time.

  7. Had this been a white male officer he'd be serving 20 years for that bad shoot. This woman gets to walk free like nothing happened, and I think we all know why.
