Los Angeles, California — On August 18, 2023, around 6:57 a.m., Southeast Division uniformed officers responded to a radio call of a “Possible assault with a deadly weapon suspect there now” armed with a gun in the alley to the rear of the 2100 block of East 103rd Street. When officers arrived at the location, they located the suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Urias Saucedo, standing in the alley. The officers stopped their police vehicle to investigate. As the officers exited the vehicle, Saucedo sat down and removed a handgun from his rear waistband. The officers ordered Saucedo to drop the handgun, but he did not comply. Saucedo stood, began to raise the handgun with his right hand and an OIS occurred.

Saucedo was struck by gunfire. Saucedo attempted to flee the scene on foot but was taken into custody by the officers. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported Saucedo by rescue ambulance to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Saucedo was treated and released. Saucedo is a resident of Los Angeles, and he was booked for California Penal Code 69 PC – Resisting an Executive Officer. His bail was set at $80,000, Booking Number 6661911. The LAPD’s Forensic Science Division – Firearm Analysis Unit responded to the scene and recovered the handgun from the scene. Their examination of the handgun determined it was a replica-style handgun and was booked as evidence. No officers or other citizens were injured as a result of this incident.

  1. As a retired LAPD officer I commend the two officers for their decision making, effort, and staying in the fight until the suspect was in custody. However,. one cannot deny that MOST female officers lack the strength and dexterity of their male counterparts. I know, because I worked with plenty of females in my 26 year career. However, when I came on the job in 96 you still had supervisors that would not pair two females in one car…and this is why. The only reason they were able to cuff him is because he finally gave in to the arrest. Otherwise this cluster would have continued until their backup units arrived. Again, good job on the officers for staying in the fight until there was a resolution. However, I'm afraid if the crook was a bit more hard-core, things might have turned out vastly different, and not for the better.

  2. Девушки полицейские его подстрелили, но так сразу не смогли с малышом справиться. Подтверждение, что девушки очень физически слабы и их на такие миссии ставить преступно, так как могут даже от подроска получить увечия и сломать свои крашенные ногти.

  3. These officers are clearly ROOKIES. I hate that these officers are put in harms way without proper training. MOVE IN FOR THE ARREST STOP JUST WAITING FOR HIM TO SHOOT YOU.

  4. Democratic cities and towns across the US are running rampant with this kind of problems for a while now, seems like towns controlled by anarchy and lawlessness.
Tough times for the US and those who care, feel sad that the innocent law abiding citizens are not safe anymore. US needs stricter laws against crime and corruption, the judicial system doesn’t protect the innocent and the just.

  5. Word to Tamir Rice. Having a replica in public may be risky but risky isn't illegal. Accountability is everything. List the manufacturer of that replica and justice can be served. Every citizen of america can be attached to a class action law suit, put them out of business, get a check, and force any replica manufacturer to make the obvious they are not real. Put a clown nose of that shit, whatever needs to be done so coos can look and laugh and not shot and kill people
