Two video episodes of the M60A1 Armored Vehicle Landing Bridge (AVLB) during loading and preparing a bridge laying vehicle and practicing the deployment of its 60 foot scissor-type bridge span.

Designed to quickly move heavy military wheeled and tracked vehicles over unstable or hazardous terrain the AVLB consists of three major sections: the launcher, the vehicle hull, and the bridge. The scissors-type bridge weights over 13 000 kg, is made of aluminum and can be deployed under armor protection in 3 to 10 minutes, and retrieved and stowed in 10 minutes to an hour depending on terrain. The M60 AVLB or Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge was introduced in 1963.

  1. У россиян по-моему такая переправа за 5 мин и с колёс собираеться

  2. This is the classic "scissors" type bridge, which works well but has one disadvantage: it can be seen from miles away when deploying. The German "Biber" and "Leguan" bridges stay within the same height.

  3. Gen shepherd: Get up private Allen rangers lead the way move.

Sgt Foley: use you're frag lunchers.

Some idiot who it chocolate 🍫 in battle: yum-yum

  4. 12F operated this, the CEV, and the M9 ACE. All of them were constantly breaking down, hydraulic leaks, electrical, fuel leaks, etc. Hell the M9 ACE couldn't dig a tank fighting position in half the places around the world without breaking or failing
