Indonesia protests big reversal on labor rights – Everything Law and Order Blog

Trade unions in Indonesia are mobilizing workers by the thousands to protest the 2020 Omnibus Bill, which significantly undermines many labor protections won under the 2003 Labor Law. President Jokowi Widodo argues that more labor flexibility is necessary to attract foreign investment. Workers note that the promise of increased prosperity comes directly at their expense. 1. They want Indonesia to become a socialist nation…. work contract is up to the company and the employee to agree upon…..

  2. It seems that Indonesian's business community has too much clout as to labor legislation, akin to conservatives' taking away Americans' rights, but we fight and vote.

  4. Not to straight, your channel. Why deactivate the comments in some of the video's ? A bit coward, to my sense.
Sorry for this actual post, nothing to do with it,I apologize.

  5. We’re all in the same boat aren’t we? Solidarity from the similarly authoritarian UK to our Indonesian friends.

  6. Where's America standing up for these human rights. Oh we're busy and Ukraine sorry. Nothing to do with human rights everything to do with power

  7. This is a worldwide phenomenon.
Big business has taken control of everything and governments sign the papers and look the other way as their countrymen suffer.

  8. Omg this is the first time I see foreign media cover this. Thank you so much for covering this. Indonesia's left wing movement is basically dying with little support from the general public and zero support from the government
