I am vehemently opposed to police misconduct, but still feel that the budget of any government agency should fully budget those things which protect our rights, the police, the courts, and the military in the case of the feds. Everything else that government spends money on should come next.
The cops that violate the law and their sworn duty to protect and defend the constitution, should be sent to prison.
Brutality by those who we have given guns to and the right to take the life of someone who might be dangerous requires that we investigate fully and get the bad cops off the street. I think we also need to stop giving cops more tactical gear than an infantry soldier gets.
Protecting and defending the constitution and our rights is the most important job there is in terms of what the government spends money on. Our rights come first.

I have heard but can't confirm, that the Constitution would not be ratified if it were written in the common verbage of present day use. If true, that scares me as much as does rogue police officers.
