Detroit, Michigan — Detroit Police Chief James Craig released video of the officer-involved shooting that left a man dead at McNichols and San Juan. The video appears to show the suspect interfere with the arrest of another man and pull a gun, firing at police. Detroit Police Chief James Craig says body and dash cam footage show that Hakim Littleton was shot and killed by officers after he apparently pulled out a gun and fired twice at close range on an officer. It happened on the city’s west side just after 12:30 p.m. Friday, when Gang Intelligence members from the DPD 12th Precinct arrested Darnell Sylvester who had a federal warrant for his arrest for drug distribution from the DEA. Sylvester gave himself up without incident. Craig said a witness heard Littleton say he was not going to let police arrest Sylvester.

Littleton drew a handgun from his left pocket, fired at police and missed. Three officers returned fire. Littleton continued to fire his weapon as he was on the ground. There were eight shots fired in five seconds, according to Craig. Four of those shots were fired from three officers; one officer fired two shots, one officer fired one shot and another officer fired one shot. Craig says the other four shots were fired by Littleton. Craig said he and Littleton were suspected to have ties to a local gang. Littleton had been on probation for armed robbery and a weapons charge, Craig said. According to police, Littleton used a .25 caliber pistol against the officers.

  1. This patriot supports the blue ; Not the lawless nut job fools.
Wild Wild West outlaws mixing it up the law men and women in blue and busting hell wide open in the process .
Be warned u crooked crooks from the word of God thru the apostles Paul. Police service weapons “swords “are not on their side in vain or for decoration. Romans 13:4

  2. Cop's reflexes were so fast. The man shot only one round at the nearby officer and the cop standing back within split second drew his gun and got the suspect down to the ground 😏😏cool cop. Thank God no officer died specially the one whose head was aimed by the suspect

  3. Can we talk about the cross fire and why that white officer was shooting towards the dumb ass shooter with a cop on TOP of him?! Like was he trying to kill his own people?

  4. The dude in the red shirt, fires up close & personal, at the officers head. Holy shit, is that officer lucky!!! Thankfully, the suspect is clumsy AF, when trying to pull his firearm, then shoot ~ if not, that officer would've probably been killed. Good thing the officer had plenty of backup, to help eliminate the threat! Damn he was lucky!!!

  5. poor playout of the situation. the cops should've stopped shooting once the other cop jumped on top of him. cop shouldn't have jumped on him and couldve lost his life by either crossfire or being hit by the suspect while trying to tackle him

  6. Que want cops this going when you cuando police officers when you going when you going when you going when could policia when you going when you going when you going when cuando when you going when police chase you want this cops when police chase you want this

  7. that cop was lucky to be alive. shot at point blank twice by suspect who missed, then he easily could have been shot again by the other officers who were still shooting at the suspect when he dove on top of him.
