We are all we’ve got: Why mutual aid is more critical than ever – Everything Law and Order Blog

We already knew Congress’s priorities are bailing out corporations and serving the rich, but this latest COVID-19 relief package is beyond laughable.

It is abundantly clear: The calvary is not coming; we are on our own. So, with need running high, mutual aid organizers are taking it upon themselves to address food scarcity, housing, and jail support in their communities. We speak with Zoe Grieder from Tacoma Mutual Aid Collective, Nitish Pahwa from Crown Heights Mutual Aid, and a member of Good Trouble Cooperative.

  1. No need to burn anything down. everybody walk away from Rome, come out of Babylon by staying home and helping each other. Take your power back by staying home….mass withdrawal from all work and labor and tax paying. shut the system down like they are doing now in India….250 million people shut the city of Delhi and the system down until their demands are met. No need to revolt…just stay home and help each other until they do whats right.

  2. If giving food to homeless people has been made illegal (the original mutual aid) it won't be long until they make mutual aid illegal.

  3. Nice to hear about mutual aid organizations across the US. These organizations add new meaning to the concept of "boots on the ground" assistance. How can individuals or institutions support mutual aid organizations? Can a listing of such organizations be developed and posted?

  4. I wish perspective and conversations like this were more widely engaged with. It seems so fringe in my slice of the world. I gotta find a way to boost this signal! Such brilliant commentary and insight.

  5. then i need every cent i put into mutual aid to be easily tax deductable. im not paying the government AND doing their job for them.

Burn it down with Kim Brown

  7. If it's not an oil spill, it is a tsunami. If it is not a tsunami, it is a nuclear power plant explosion. If it is not a nuclear power plant explosion, it is a volcano erupting and taking out airplanes. If it is not volcano eruptions, it is category 5 hurricanes. If it is not category 5 hurricanes, it is a fake school shooting or shoe bombings. If it is not fake school shootings or shoe bombings, it is Kaepernick. ALL of these things are CIA BS. So is the fake pandemic. Get awake.
