Rev. Dr. William Barber II: A Multi-Racial Coalition Is Necessary For This Moment

1. Applause for everyone who put this video together!! Its vital to include history of movements when we ALL came together for change. I've been around since the'60s and when I attended gatherings of Dr.Barber's Moral Monday coalition in 2012, I KNEW that if any group could pick up the torch from what's been simmering since 1968, a coalition of poor people is IT. And Dr. Barber is addressing that group that NOW includes almost half of the population and consists of EVERY creed and color and ethnic background…oh, a rainbow coalition of poor people. Thanks for your work and devotion in this struggle and making my heart beat a little faster today. We're not goin away. Love wins.

2. As an ADOS i would like to see this unity movement take the position that ADOS get reparations first because all the effort in previous unity campaign that Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis mentioned, reconstruction, union, women movements, tenets farmers movements etc…..
   ADOS were either betrayed or left behind. reconstruction we were put back on the same plantations, red summer 1919 massacres of ADOS sharecroppers trying to unionize, the FDR great society excluded farm labor, maids, butlers, pullman porters from receiving Social Security, union excluded ADOS from skilled labor and the Johnson administration affirmative action benefited white women the most. So frankly i have no faith that this all inclusive movement will provide anything unless it prioritize Reparations for ADOS 1st.

3. A Resource Based Economy first proposed by the late Jacque Fresco and now pushed by The Zeitgeist Movement is a system designed to calculate the needs for everyone without money or markets. I would encourage you all to watch an Introduction to a Resource Based Economy by Peter Joseph of TZM. Great resource for solutions to our current system.

4. Can this really change under Capitalism? No. The issues of Capitalism, poverty, debt, unemployment, gentrification, militarism, inequality are the very structure of Capitalism. There is no way to fix it. The system must be replaced.

5. Finally!! Mark Steiner thank for at least asking the question about CAPITALISM! Something The Zeitgeist Movement has been doing for 10 years!!

20. Dr Barber is a clown. Wants to be MLK but is afraid to make a ripple at behind the scene meetings. He's a "pop artist" who lip syncs this movement but doesn't even like the genre.
