Policing (most of them are decent people putting their lives at risk trying to do a good job in a screwed up system/ society), a screwed up legal system (thoroughly currupted, US incarceration rates highest in the world), political system thoroughly corrupted, economic system thoroughly corrupted on & on & on. Basically America has been thoroughly corrupted ACROSS THE BOARD¡! And the sheeple are looking for simplistic 'solutions' to complex problems that are just going to make things worse¡! If Trump at the Federal level & others at state & local levels can't or won't pull the corruption out by the roots & rebuild the system from the ground up then America is most probably SCREWED¡! Sad to say but that's the way it is in my opinion. America will probably become 'BALKANISED' & different states will go their own ways. Some will be run fairly well & others quite poorly until the people revolt. That's very sad but when a country has a failed leadership at the national level then it becomes necessary for states to go their own way. Either Trump (or someone else) will take the necessary (extreme) measures to clear out the entire system & reform it or America's going to come apart at the seams.

14. I don’t know if the police should be defunded but refunded in different area and restructured. The dirty cops, which is a lot of them I think because of the whole “thin blue line” thing, need to be weeded out. Some of the only ways to to that are through more intense psychological screenings for people who want to become officers, more regulation of police by the community via citizen review boards that have not only randomly selected citizens but also community leaders and members of the police force, and longer training for those who want to become officers. More black, hispanic, asian, etc. and LGBTQ+ need to be firefighters, EMTs and Police Officers otherwise the change will never happen.

    The reality people cannot police themselves anymore than the police can or the government can. We need to fix the balance of power that has so clearly been disturbed in this country and a great place to start is just conversation. Trying to talk to and not argue with someone who doesn’t agree with you and find some sort of middle ground. And it isn’t just the Republicans or just the Democrats. It is everyone refusing to listen. It is everyone not apologizing when they accidentally start talking over someone else. Because of the media a lot of people get caught up in what’s happening and can only see things up close and personal. There are times such as now, however, that we all as a country need to take a step back, take a few breaths and come to the table with one another. This includes congress because there is a CLEAR lack of communication between the two parties where we need it most.

    I’m almost positive no one will read this but I think it’s important to be said. Everyone’s voices should be heard.
