17. Nolan Higdon seems to be operating outside the research on propaganda. The public always figure it out, but there's a lag with each new deception device. Of course very few people can identify propaganda. That's a testament to its quality. What you do to counteract propaganda has always been the same: Test your trust relationships with everyone you rely on for information to make sure that, over time, they prove out to be basically honest. I can name 30 to 40 information providers I've never caught lying. Virtually none of them is well paid. If the person telling you what reality looks like is being paid ten times what you are, they are lying to you with very rare exception. Glenn Greenwald is paid over $500k/yr but he's well worth it and I've never caught him in a lie. Same with Matt Taibbi at about $300k/yr. They are totally unusual and I can't think of any others as honest yet being paid so well.

    Develop a relationship with all of your sources of information or you will be used and abused and made to believe and do things you will regret. Good people like you and me are trying to help everywhere. Find them and get to know them. Shun the well paid professional liars at NY Times, WaPo, and all cable news. Pay close attention to the highly consistent propaganda narratives dominating all reportage from the three world wire services: Associated Press, Agence France Press and Reuters. They set the entire narrative and they are criminally deceptive with a combined staff of about 15,000 cranking out false narratives around the clock and around the world.
