Are Dems Barking Up The Wrong Tree On Impeachment? – Everything Law and Order Blog

David Swanson says there are plenty of reasons for impeaching Trump, but the Democrats’ Ukrainegate case is weak and will not galvanize the nation or challenge the Senate to convict.

  1. If you were going to impeach someone it shoulda been "W"…the man all but destroyed the republic, thumbed his nose @ Congress & the constitution regularly & did horrific & terribly heinous things…yet nothing… but Bill gets a little action under the desk & everybody loses their s..t…trump has done NOTHING in comparison to "W" & yet now the democrips must defend the constitution they & the rebloodlicans hate…its a bunch of b.s…a sick dog & pony show of lies…

  2. please hire an audio engineer that can maintain consistent levels of the various mics and sources (video clips).

  3. DEMOCRATS ARE BARKING UP THE RIGHT TREE . A CLOSED MIND JUST CAN'T COMPREHEND , WHICH IS TO SAY THAT REPUBLICANS ARE IN BLATANT DENIAL OF WRONG DOING.

  4. Thank you TRNN for finally running a segment that frames the Democratic party’s Russia gate 2.0 appropriately. Keep asking the right questions.

  5. Ty for that totally unbiased "real news"… Nice u kept it free of pesky facts w evidence & sourced references offered for each assertion- shrouds the propaganda. The puddles on the floor, which surely were left afyer these 2 melting snowflakes, keeps low skilled workers employeed, right on!

  6. What really angers me is that the corporate democrats want to remove Trump and deprive me of the pleasure of voting him out of office. I won't forget this and I won't forgive this either.
    Cheers,
    Maui Bill

  7. This guy is good. Very good. He's a great psy-operative. Full of shit. Necessarily so. And being a master, he knows it. I hate the guy but I respect him.

  8. Fiona Hill is a nutter. I know that's harsh, but she strikes me as an ideological nutcase, not a scholar of any merit.

  9. Of all the shit this scumbag has done while in office it feels more than a little strange that they chose this particular situation to fight on. He's cold dead on the presidential profiteering, war crimes, unconstitutional tactics, etc, but they go for something mired down in the minutiae of legal definitions that's easily exploited by the Republicans and is about as "unsexy" as possible, and the US population has an embarrassingly short attention span for the "sexy" shit. The Democratic Party is a fuckin joke. We all where the Republicans stand. But the Dems love pretending they're something else while being just as corrupt, just as ruthless, just as reactionary, just as bought into the same ideas and myths, represent the same status quo and ownership class, but are far more outta touch and inept on the public and playing political wargames. I will never understand how people can delude themselves into the idea of reforming such a disgusting institution as if it's even possible.

However, I also HATE this myth of "corruption" and "broken". Things are going just as planned, these systems, structures and institutions were intentionally designed this way. These are features, not bugs. What the hell else do you expect from an illegal settler colony founded by wealthy, educated, land and slave owning, white business men who had their little coup, after co-opting common people's uprisings, and took colonies from a king (mostly over taxes and expansion, issues of the wealthy, not the people) to set up a set of systems and institutions to protect and serve their interests and privileges.

  10. That is right!
That man has done way worse out in the public eye
And they continue going around the bushes…😣

Congress has wayyyyyyy more to impeach and take him Out😮

  11. who are these people who still push the false narrative that mueller's probe exonerated trump? mueller PROVED OVER 100 instances of trump/Russian conspiracy to rig the 2016 election in trump's favor. and it proved 8 or 9 instances of obstruction. numerous people went to jail thanks to mueller. barr was brought in specifically to ORDER mueller to conclude a "sitting president can't be indicted." that was barr's illegal conclusion, not based upon the findings of Mueller's probe. its nowhere in the constitution or federal law. trump was guilty as hell and mueller proved it! QUIT SAYING OTHERWISE! and Mueller's findings SHOULD be a part of the impeachment counts long with the 100's of other crimes trump, his family and his cohorts committed over the last 4 years!

  12. David Swanson is absolutely 100% correct. There are many impeachable offenses that have already been committed. Makes me think that the Congress doesn't really want him out. What the heck is wrong with Nancy Pelosi. She seems like she is helping tRump.

  13. Absolutely, so many impeachable offenses. If tRump is allowed to get away with these offenses, we have no Democracy in this country. The End.

  14. Don't worry leftist democrats…Trump has already agreed that he will PROBABLY step down fron the Presidency in January 2025. So take heart…

  15. The warmongering Dems prefer to attack Trump on not being sufficiently militaristic against Russia. That reveals the true nature of the corrupt political duopoly.

  16. White Amerikkka got Trump in let them get him out the dems ain’t got my black vote 🗳 🤴🏿 🛸

  17. The zit face guys is suffering from TDS at a very high lvl. These progressives have tried every way to smear 45 if any of these deranged ideas were true it would have been followed thru to the fullest extent. So sad to see the intellectual dishonesty going on at such high lvls. KAG 2020 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

  18. If you are riding on either (labeled) the republicans or on the democrats gravey train, it's All the same train (you're being fooled to think otherwise), same owners of the tracks & trains monopoly-No real difference dude?!
Stop falling for their "labeling" B.S.!
If so, time to Stop being their programmed Suckers?!

  19. What is all this about Donald Trump pardoning a racist cop, telling ICE to break laws, escalating drone attacks, and threatening to countries with nuclear attacks? This is the first I ever heard of these things.

  20. Wow, this guest just claimed that Trump put a ban on Muslims… He did not. He banned travel to the US from known terrorist countries. There's a BIG difference there. The way this guest is skewing all of his points really stretches the imagination, to say the least! What drivel! This guy is seriously, dangerously deluded, and it's because of the mainstream media constantly reinforcing these narratives!

  21. I will all these 'sleuths' had their little magnifying glasses out, looking over all the details of corruption and Russian collusion, when Obama let Putin just casually walk in to Crimea and take to over. Crimea is a very strategic military location. Where was this guest's outrage THEN?

  22. It has become obvious that the Ukraine is put on the forefront because a major donor to the Democratic party is the Pentagon…(I do not support Trump or the Republican and Democratic party)

  23. Getting the Ukraine into NATO is part of the plan to dismantle the former Soviet states of Russia. This was the purpose of the Project for the New American Century, (PNAC). The US would do better with Russia as a partner than to force it to an alliance with China. You don't see it on the news, but this will be looked at as a historic blunder…

  24. This political theater comes off like a group of misbehaving children all furiously tattling on each other. Russia isn't compelling enough as an existential threat for us to ignore the lesser corruptions both parties engage in. If meddling in elections is a problem why do we do it? Why do we allow corporations to do it? Political parties? Billionaires?

  25. Hill is not only an imbecile. She is a liar as well, one who was mentored by one of the worst propagandists ever to disgrace the U.S. government.

Marc, you're a good guy, but you're doing yourself and The Real News Network no favors by forcing TRNN to cater to your Russia-gate conspiracy-mongering. That your case is so weak that you feel compelled to disallow comments on TRNN stories for the last several months, while skeptics such as Aaron Mate and Ben Norton depart for other organizations because they don't tow the Russia-phobic line, is appalling. TRNN does not need to join the Intercept in pushing deep state propaganda.

Now, with regard to Swanson's constant whining about the Electoral College, he's absolutely wrong and disingenuous about it. He claims he supports democracy, but wants to deny the vote to pretty much most of the nation outside New York and California. Sorry, but democracy doesn't work that way. Democracy means EVERYONE gets a say in choosing representatives and shaping public policy, not just those voters in a couple of populous states. Clinton's defeat in 2016 was because she childishly refused to campaign in all fifty states, writing off the "red" ones, ignoring the "blue ones" and trying to appeal to rich people in a relative handful of perceived "swing" states while alienating everyone else. Had Clinton campaigned as Howard Dean practically forced Obama and the Democrat Party to in 2006 and 2008, she would now be the one facing impeachment from Republicans over her crimes (assuming she hadn't first initiated a hot war with nuclear-armed Russia).

So can we please can it with the stupidity of propping up a fabricated scandal that serves only to distract away from Biden's very real crimes, allow Drumpf to get away with his actual crimes, and subvert the democratic process in favor of deep-state-led coups.

  26. Don't Care, WS is FIGHTING each other. The Right Wing and the Left Wing. They are Both EVIL. #ADOS CUT THE CHECK NOW NO REPARATION NO VOTE THE BLACK VETERAN SC.

  27. The Baby Boomer generation, Mellineals and Generation X-ers, are divided by age and sex. Capitalism creates a natural division of labor between along race, gender and age under a social division of labor of work along lines of income and jobs.
Divisions that prevent generations building solidarity among each other. The separated and divided groups do not relate to each other. At work, workers take on more responsibility bossing other workers, supervisor and worker relationship, a top down social structure in management. At home, parents are out of it, old school, and not tech saavy. These are divisions working their way in breaking down solidairty and unity. General social attitudes, and low and behold none of them are united and within them politcally divided. Anyone can be a candidate just by running on one single issue pertinent to the thing that divides them is how deep the divisions run. Bridging this generation gap is Bernie and Tulsi, are the only people who talk about making your life better, the others are their to divide your vote.
However, the point is, the latter two generatons are last to have grown up not socialized by America's social institutions broken down by privatization. This makes them less inclined to be socially obedient. More inclined to overthrow capitalism as a fraudulent authority the more radically right wing it becomes. The other divisions in this generation is structured in a labor hierarchy. GM workers have three tiers, workers with seniority, workers on a flexible schedule and workers employed part time crushes the idea that they are all workers and solidarity. The GM strike was interesting because the workers knew a strike was necessary but for what demands to strike about was less concrete and forced the worker (union) to demand changes in the division of labor of the factory. A division in the factory that is magnified and multiplied in the division of labor outside the factory began to break down the division itself and the whole authoritarian social structure built on it.

Breaking down the divisions in society is the most important issue for workers in America, whether the president is impeached or not is not going to change that which divides all workers, if anything, whatever the outcome the divisions are perpetuated.

  28. Normalizing corruption is not an option. They really have no choice. This impeachment will hold everyone in Congress accountable.

  29. As an international observer I wonder if this is just tribe-speak between these two, here. The World has been enslaved by the Global Deep State and it took America's 'conservative,' ''Christians' to eventually identify this and throw their support behind Mr Trump to reverse 200 years of Corporate takeover of everything, through the position of POTUS and the legitimate application of US Courts, and with the dissemination of the voice of investigating alternative Media. Notice how Mark and his guests seem to be blind to anything outside the Mainstream Media, Neocon Political, and Central Bank led, narrative! And I'm not the only classically educated and active analyst who would would essentially see it from this perspective!

  30. "Our Nation is being torn apart" by, as David Swanson says, HUUUGE disparities in power. But nobody wants to discuss that. Hence, Russiagate, etc.

  31. impeachment hearings: happen
sensible comments: get the mob boss out of office!
ignorance: prosecution trump bad, impeachment moot!
