18. This is an extremely foolish course of action. What will happen is Facebook with begin to rely more and more on these "arbiters of truth", the Atlantic Council, the Heritage Foundation, the Federalist Society, Think Progress, New Knowledge. In the end, political ads that challenge the establishment orthodoxy in Washington will be banned, and since it will be done by a private company, hey, no worries about First Amendment violations, right? For fear of some right-wing lies, Mr. Hampton, you will invite the ruling elite to tighten their grip over dissenting opinions. They will not let this crisis go to waste. This is the polar opposite of what the Left should be fighting for.
