  1. Hong Kong without an extradition law will become a safe haven for fugitives.
The Hong Kong murderer who killed his girl friend  In Twain should be extradited back to Twain to face trial, If this does not happen no one wins only the inflammatory media and the protesters.

  2. It's understandable that the protesters are used a way of life that they don't want to completely lose, but its Chinese sovereign territory, no question. It was taken after Britain imposed a humiliating treaty at the end of the opium wars. The US is happy as per usual to interfere, but they don't give a fuck, if they did, why not respond to the protests in Bahrain or Saudi Arabia, or Georgia, or Puerto Rico? No, they are against the Puerto Ricans who shitcanned the US junta there. – Ask yourself this, if you think HK should have independence, why don't you give independence to Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands, Guam, Samoa, Hawaii? They all had their independence taken in the last century by the US empire, and live as second class citizens in their own country. Hong Kong was never Britain's land to give away, why dont you give Gibraltar back, or the Falklands, and they also "acquired" some of the virgin islands. And before you talk shit about "they want to be british" – you stole the territory, then imposed a humiliating "treaty", then installed colonists, and naturally they all voted to legalise your theft. How is that the "will of the people", the people you put there? The British and Americans dont have any right to lecture anyone about the crimes of colonialism.

  3. This channel is a disaster as usual talking Asia politics. The host has no clue what he is talking about. The bill has been withdrawn … but HK people want the governor to resign as well as investigation on police brutality. The problem is that a lot of the demonstrators were pretty violent themselves and not peaceful whatsoever. When they get hurt, they want the police to go to jail. HK demonstrators want to elect their own governor that promotes HK independence. Beijing would never allow that. Finally, the main land people don't support these HK demonstrators to begin with … neither do a lot of HK people.

  4. Lot's of authoritarians in the comment section hating on the people of HK for resisting the overreach of a totalitarian dictatorship.

  5. Beijing's effort to control…itself. This is absurd. China shoudn't have to be beholden to an agreement it was forced to sign by a colonial power that stole its land for a century.

  6. Pretty sickening to see the amount of ‘leftists’ here that spread Chinese propaganda just because they are enemies of the west. China is still a brutal capitalist dictatorship and its citizens must be supported against it.

  7. I am not Chinese nor from White majority countries.
I don't understand what is so wrong for China to be more in control in Hong Kong? It is part of China, always has been, it was stolen from China by the British where they used it to sell Opium that killed alot of Chinese.
As I see it, these protesters are pro colonial supporters, they prefer Hong Kong to be under British colonialism. Like Puerto Rico, Hong Kong while under British had no voting power or real democracy. Hong Kong has its first democracy when it was returned back to China, and the Chinese government allows it in order to keep thing in order, hence the birth of One Country 2 Systems. Tell me any other countries especially in the West that allow any part of their regions to have their own system? None. I am yet to see any news medias, establishment or alternative to bring a pro China person living in Hong Kong, to tell his or her own perspective because so far, all I can hear and see from Western medias, there is only one narative. China is bad ; past, present and future.

  8. The private central bankers are mounting their offensive in Hong Kong. This is just Act 1. The money changers ALWAYS screech for more freedom while they assault your country with usury loans.

  9. A major figure of the "pro-democracy" camp and an oligarch, Jimmy Lai, just flew to DC and had a meeting with John Bolton recently. Perhaps the difference between this "revolution" and the one in Venezuela is the oligarchs in HK are wise enough to divert fund to several "left alternative media" outlets to control the narrative better, or perhaps not.

  10. 150 year the British brainwashed Hong Kongers into loathing Chinese civilisation (and hence themselves) and thinking UK and Europe is the land of milk and honey. 150 years of Stockholm Syndrome. Add to this US Hollywood propaganda and the average Hong Konger knows more about life in New York than Mainland China, or at least the cool, sanitized, potemkin village image of America that it presents to the world.

When has HK ever had democracy. What would happen to protesters, calling for Democracy under British rule? We're protests even allowed? There is incredible lack of context or questioning around this in TRNN reporting and other US "leftwing" outlets. Why no mention of the murderers hiding in HK that triggered calls for extradition in the first place. Why no discussion of how extraordinary it is to have a territory with zero extradition of criminals? No mention of counter protests by people of the opposite persuasion. How would French government have responded to the sacking of its parliament building considering French police have injured 1000s of demonstarators without any such provocation.

Taking these protests at face value as pure pro-democracy, implying China is evil and trying to ruin all HKers lives. This is pitiful reporting.

  11. why the one-sided perspective? is this respectable independent news? why no one from hk govt side or from beijing for input? gatekeeping?

  12. Admittedly the USA has quite a history of destabilising governments one way or another so I am open to that. There are many countries with significant social unrest and demonstrations at present ..and I am trying to get a sense of the similar issues that present.

  13. Bring The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) criminal group to justice.
Punish ‘radical’ the CCP’s HK police abuse the Hong Kong peaceful protesters who follow the law of God.
By the power of Almighty God, our Savior Jesus Christ thrust into hell Satan the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and all its evil spirits who roam through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

  14. China wants capitalism, but not so many capitalists. Hongkong wants money, lots and lots and lots of money. Oh, and really cheap labour, just like China.

  15. Good point ..I will try to see the relative ages of the protestors but what a complex sociological. Issue…not judging trying to understand

  16. People around the world should know that once student president museveni of uganda is dead, we the real ugandans we are going to chase or kick out every foreigners hiding in uganda and afrika

  17. When I try to look at the class character of the HK protests I don’t see the working class being centred whatsoever. They are protesting an extradition treaty that includes a clause aimed at financial crimes committed on the mainland, which obviously means capitalists and petit bourgeoisie and delusional, backwards liberals are the ones who care most. The bourgeois want to continue to live in luxury, and so they've started making a big deal over a very reasonable law. This isn’t to say everyone protesting there is part of the upper strata, but most news coverage seems to obfuscate from the class make up of the protests. From what I can tell, it’s not the most exploited in society who are against this… there’s also a ton of funding from NED-type groups – its a shame you never mention this. Theres also literal nazis /nazbols marching alongside colonial apologists. Way to be liberal, TRNN.
