Let's hope that this activism isn't just something that's ephemeral, for that unfortunately is how activism has been, only brief so-called activism. Take, f.e., the Vietnam War draft dodgers who sought asylum in Canada and they were accepted by Cdn PM P.E. Trudeau. Too many of them later supported other US wars and ALL US wars since WW II, possibly including that one, have been criminal on Washington's part. There's definitely real reason to protest against the mistreatment, the inhumane treatment, of Central and possibly South Americans in general who're only seeking to attain reasonable living conditions in the US; but, this activism must be steadfast and, especially, done in an integral manner. There're many serious causes for real activism; no doubt about that. It just needs to be steadfast and integral.
