  1. The National Assembly was elected in Dec. 2015, it has a six year term. The MUD opposition won 58% to 42%. They wanted to depose the president but failed, and they haven't won another election since, mostly because they refuse to run anyone. I think in all there have been five national elections since 2015. Maduro called a Constituent Assembly election, 2017, and that eclipsed or delegitimated the N.A., and then the Chavistas-Maduro won the presidency in 2018, took office in Jan. 2019, as Lander says. He says 3.4 million have left the country, in a population of 30 million or more. He says maybe half, or 15 million may leave, as things fall apart. Neoliberalism has the goal of "free trade" and free flow of capital, that is banks and multinational corporations can buy and own everything anywhere, and national governments must beg the IMF for loan capital and install austerity fiscal policy. As in Cuba, Venezuela is facing lean times ahead as the U.S. punishes those who deal with the Venezuela government. But China and Russia and a few others are not going along. With the idiots in the U.S. and the rabid opposition demonizing the Chavistas and refusing to talk or cooperate, it doesn't look good. There's an article at "Global Research" (.ca) "50 Truths about Hugo Chavez and the Bolivarian Revolution." A very long list of amazing benefits that followed the election of Chavez in 1999. https://www.globalresearch.ca/50-truths-about-hugo-chavez-and-the-bolivarian-revolution/5326268 — The number of doctors increased from 20 for 100,000 to 80 for 100,000. Impressive, along with many other advances. The U.N Human Development Index, Adjusted for Inequality shows Venezuela doing well among other Latin American countries. It ranks above Mexico, but that not saying much. Replacing the infrastructure of corporate capitalism is no simple task. We see the U.S. not sharing prosperity within the U.S., inequality has deepened. The United Way charity reports that 40% of the U.S. population cannot afford seven basic necessities of life. We are struggling and flailing under an ever more powerful oligarchy. My blog: http://benL88.blogspot.com — Venezuela Analysis is a good source for news.

  2. Boooo! boooo! I just checked in with the sole purpose of voting this thumbs down. Not worth wasting my time listen to this babble. He's too unreal for the Real News inmho

  3. Just another white privileged mouthpiece of the elitist bullshitters gathered around Guaido the Freemason clown puppet of the CIA. Makes me question the agenda of the Real News Network.

  4. The people already chose Maduro…the U.S. government has no business meddling there. Everyone knows it's about the oil. Please stop giving this man a platform.

  5. Referendumb.
It would be a fatal mistake for the Venezuelan government to give in to this kind of pressure.

  6. Madura is president. This has been decided by the people. The hardships have been caused by US sanctions. The sanctions need to stop.

  7. But we all know that Guaido isn't legitimate, well ALL know, including Guaido himself. He shouldn't be legitimized like this because this was all manufactured by the US, and the US had no right at all to meddle in this.

  8. Venezuela is another takeover target for Western oligarchs. It has been deliberately "destabilized" since Chavez was elected in 1998, through coup attempts, violent acts and sabotage by opposition hooligans, and relentless economic warfare. The chief "crisis" in Venezuela is the unwillingness of Western oligarchs to accept democratic elections that favor the Venezuelan majority.

  9. MS. PERIES HE IS NOT GIVING YOU THE ACTUAL LEGAL FACTS!!! PRESIDENT GUIADO IS THE INTERIM PRESIDENT BECAUSE MADURO IS NOT RECOGNIZED BY THE MAJORITY OF THE COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD AND THAT THE ELECTIONS WERE FRAUDULENT. THEREFORE IN THAT CASE, THE PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY BECOMES THE INTERIM PRESIDENT. PRESIDENT GUIADO IS RECOGNIZED BY OVER 60 COUNTRIES WORLDWIDE. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, BUT YOUR GUEST IS PROTECTING HIMSELF FROM PERSECUTION BY THE REGIME. HE IS NOT GIVING OR EXPLAINING THE PROCESS MUCH LESS THE ARRESTS OF PRESIDENT GUIADO’S RIGHT HAND OFFICIAL AND NOTHING HAS BEEN MADE KNOWN TO HIS FAMILY OR ANYONE WHERE HE IS BEING DETAINED OR HIS CONDITION. I’M SORRY THAT THIS GUEST HAS BEEN LESS THAN FORTHCOMING ABOUT THE REALITY THAT EXISTS IN VENEZUELA. 🙏🏼🇻🇪🙏🏼

  10. Landers is speaking for the white elites in Venezuela…Recognizing Guiado is ridiculous…. Landers is not respecting the majority of people… Maduro won the election… Get over it….

  11. It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.

    Joseph Stalin

  12. Y'all keep trotting this guy out but he is the worst representation of the intelligenciea. Both sides respect strength not this vanilla yawn. State your fucking terms clearly. Knock off this listing of every possible direction it smacks of weakness. Hell I can't even tell who he thinks he represents but I know Guido's people will say he is Maduro's guy.
