  1. Sanders should not try to win the so-called “black” vote at all! He should focus on his basic argument that the economy is grossly unfair – we need universal healthcare, decent jobs, free university education, etc.. Focus on the working class voters generally. If black voters get on board, fine, but no pandering, no special pleading. If some black person grabs his microphone when he’s speaking, don’t give it to them! Kick them out! . He needs to win the working class whites who voted for Trump more than he needs to win the black vote. Hillary hugger every black kid she could find and it hurt her badly.

  2. I worked on the McGovern campaign, in 1972; I drove a few cars, typed a few letters and was Highly Vocal to friends, family and strangers. And the Democratic Party ignored us, in the same way the "Opposition" Democrats undermine true progressives whether Bernie or Tulsi or the rest of the announced candidates who lean left. It's a pleasure to hear someone bring up that historical parallel ('72 to '12) for younger people who think that the country just turned right…it's been going that way for a long time, it just took the current cast of characters, in the Trump White House, the Pelosi House of Representatives and the Schumer Senate to make the situation so painfully apparent to all who dare watch. Thanks Real News; you're a dependable source of interesting, intelligent discussion.

  3. As an ADOS….NEVER! Every young black person I speak to feels the same about Bernie. He passed reparations for Jews but acts aloof when it comes to ADOS. Bernie is a monster and a bigot like most progressives

  4. He can’t win even the nomination after his stupid support for an unelected president in Venezuela. Couldn’t believe him saying such nonsense . Socialist¿he’s a fraud.

  5. I don't know if black voters or trumpians like medicare for all, free public college, reducing the military, a green new deal, higher taxes on the billionaires, etc…

  6. Bernie has Tweeted support for undemocratic regime change in Venezuela. No true socialist would support Trump, Pence, Pompeo and Elliot 'Death Squad' Abrams.

If Bernie was the real deal he would call out the corporate cabal that wants to overthrown a sovereign nation in order to steal their oil, gold and mineral reserves.

  7. He isn't getting my vote because he is talking regime change script for Venezuela. He is owned. I voted between hideous and hideous in 2016. I will not do that again.

  8. Thanks, Pau; Jay for another great program.
Bernie is the ONLY Real Progressive running. I hope that the "copycats" running against Bernie are outed! Look at his history & look at theirs. He will win unless the DNC continues to have closed primaries,. Or dems are dead! If Bernie doesn't win, I'm voting Green again.

I hope that he announces that Nina Turner will be his veep, the only sure way to get minority votes. She is a powerhouse speaker! Smart, fearless, suffers no fools. She can get the Trump Christian Right to swing left! Damn, I'd join her "church" & I'm a white lapsed Catholic. She is almost as good as MLK. She is no Obama or Kamala Harris, she is black culture.
He needs to do it now to overcome the race issue & ageism. Bernie & Nina are real! they both grew up poor, Their friendship is apparent.

I think all his supporters need to flood his website, send texts, emails & letters begging him to make this smart move.

  9. Elizabeth Taylor
unfortunately I think it is quite possible there will be more than one ballot and then we immediately get the horrible superdelegates right back. Most likely intentionally planned that way, obviously there'd be a lot of people tempted to run against trump. I don't think they had any serious intention of getting rid of the super delegates and gee, guess what their job will be, again. I think not on the first ballot is just a cheap scam.

  10. Black wealth is projected to reach zero by 2053. Democrats have to stop playing the politics of sameness by lumping us all into one group. Having a policy approach that lumps all us all together into "all people" or just classism WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE. You have to tackle our individual issues with individual policies. It's not about classism for black Americans because our race disproportionately occupies the bottom. That's a race problem not a class problem.

  11. NO VOTE FOR BAM BAM SANDERS HE WILL GO DOWN TO OLD DO NOT VOTE FOR ANY ONE OVER 60 YEARS. GET RON PAUL IN HE IS THE MAN NOT THE ONES WHO KISS ASS. AND WANT WAR NO NOT VOTE FOR WAR.

  12. We need to do away with one box or the other. All of us are in it together. Should not declare a victory when at expense of the others. There has to be a collective good for this country to excel and grow not just in economics but the most importantly in history. Most people I'm afraid vote for the ones that entertain the best not the righteous or qualified. Trump, Reagan, Bush's, Clinton, Obama all were the better debater and came across, entertained, the best. How could this be changed?

  13. Bernie might not be black but his platform is much more for black folks than any other race. Like the guy in the video said, it's the rainbow coalition without even calling it that. I see black folks going around talking about tangigles, but Bernie Sanders is proposing tangibles. His policies are almost identitcal to the black panther platform. This is Huey Newton black panther platform, compare it to what Sanders is running on.

1.We Want Full Employment For Our People
Sanders is proposing Jobs program and guarantee Jobs through Green New deal / Infrastructure spending

2.We Want An End To The Robbery By The Capitalists Of Our Black Community
Sanders is proposing taking on the private prison complex, that takes lives from black folks. Tye most capitalistic thing in this country that still has slavery going on.

3.We Want Decent Housing Fit For The Shelter Of Human Beings
Sanders is proposing the government build affordable housing

4.We Want An Immediate End To Police Brutality And Murder Of Black People.
Sanders is calling for criminal Justice reform and community policing.

5.We Want Freedom For All Black Men Held In Federal, State, County And City Prisons And Jails.
Sanders is calling for black folks in jail to be released for marijuana and for their records to be expunged

6.We Want Land, Bread, Housing, Education, Clothing, Justice And Peace
Sanders is proposing Housing, education, Healthcare justice and peace. He's not proposing land but you can't get everything.

No other candidate has ever proposed a platform like this, this close to the black panther platform and ever had a chance of winning. Judge for yourself and come to your own conclusion but I am backing Sanders again, because the next candidate won't propose half the shit that's on this list.

  14. Bernie 2020 can win black votes by ensuring quality public education, colleges and opportunities in inner cities. “Working people” has become code words for whites that think blacks are getting free stuff. Blacks are hurting equally or worse than rural or suburban white voters. The entire nation needs help.

  15. By its nature, you can't fix a discrepancy with a blanket solution. You'll just shift the position of the discrepancy up slightly for everyone which will probably be normalized by inflation.
