National Security Advisor John Bolton announced that the US will freeze Venezuelan assets and block oil payments for Venezuelan oil imports to the US. This would not only be illegal, but would also be yet another crippling blow to the country, says CEPR’s Mark Weisbrot

  1. Destroying the economy is what they want to do, to stoke discontent against Maduro. And they will succeed. As much as I distrust the Trump administration, I don’t pity Maduro. The earlier he is forced out, the better. And ‘illegal, immoral etc bla bla bla’ the US will press ahead anyway. Maduro’s regime will be asphyxiated, no money. Result, Maduro out

  2. We are done paying the freight of despot nations. Hopefully, Cuba will pick up our slack, they train the Venezuelan Military, Police and Healthcare Professionals. And we all know that Cuban Healthcare is the best in the world. So, Cuba can buy what we would normally buy, seeing that they have all those new tourism dollars.

  3. And USA say it’s to help the Venezuelan citizens ! So let’s be serious how sanctions can help people ….aid hep people. Not sanctions !

  4. Down with the BIG bully. .. this bully tactics is causing the riot by foreign intervention to another country. Please wake up the rest of the world… Down with the USA

  5. When he world thinks of the ugly American, Bolton, Trump, Pence and Pompeo are the poster children. Regime change coming to the White House in November 2020. Not soon enough.

  6. Taking other people's resources cheaply. Using legalism and political sabotage to take cheap oil. US is not the biggest producer of oil or gas because it's too expensive for the world market

  7. ''we have exposed the corruption of Maduro & his cronies'' yeah so?
we've also exposed the corruption of the US government for decades, but i don't see any sanctions or invsion uphand
to free the american people from it's corrupted leaders

  8. For anyone who is thinking in investing in USA , this outrageous illegal actions by the US government should be a dire warning of how pathetically criminal are the actions of this country. Invest in USA at your own risk!!

  9. Shameful. Disgusting. The US is a rogue nation. Glad to be an expat. How many countries destroyed so far by US? Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, Yemen and now Venezuela. (TG the Egyptian army saved Egypt.) The US is indeed the "Empire of Chaos"

  10. The Real News Network is so thorough and unbiased in reporting news worldwide, not just Venezuela. And most of the comments reflect an awareness of what's really going on. I'd love to see the subscriber numbers jump into the millions. Here we see the truth.

  11. The Venezuelan people will unfortunately suffer some pain to get rid of Maduro….but it’s better than the alternative….an incompetent and dictatorial leadership.

  12. The Venezuelan economy will be just fine soon as they have a government that would let their people prosper and all the videos I’ve seen the maduro supporters all look like uneducated poor people the lower classSo clearly they support them because they don’t know any better the people that oppose him look more like a middle-class and upper class citizens who are most likely educated and know what’s best for the country

  13. American companies are the only ones that can refine the oil venezuela has, it is very heavy. The bad decisions started with Chavez when he nationalized the oil and fired all the thousands of PDVSA employees and placed individuals loyal to his government even though they were not qualified. The return of american companies would be a blessing for the venezuelan people and everything would normalize. Maduro needs to step down and if he had any compassion he would do it peacefully without unecessary collateral damage.

  14. The corruption and mismanagement in the Maduro government is likely real. The fault, however, is Oil as a World Commodity.
Cotton was the world commodity supporting slavery. Oil is the commodity supporting capitalist competition. Competition is War.
But the $3M worth of business CITGO gets from the US will be a blow to all those people who buy gas at CITGO stations.
That number reflects the number American consumers purchasing CITGO gas.
CITGO is always a dime to forty cents cheaper per gallon than Exxon, Standard Oil, Sunoco, BP, Shell, Cumberland Farms, etc.
Sanctions are going to make all Americans pay more at the pump and more at the mercy of higher gas retailers fighting for the spoils.
Anymore dollars paid at the pump will have the effect of raising food prices reverberating across the whole spectrum of working people as a reduction of income from wages or salary. This on top of a big ass chunk of money lost to a government shut down. What the economy lost from that fiasco will be recovered slower and longer, more work hours, more work expended away from family and home, than if sanctions were not to added as salt on the wound.
Income from Wages, Rents, Interests, Salaries are fixed so everyone is watching ever red cent they spend. Its at the point where people have to alternate between food and gas weeks at a time.
It will be one less resource for cheaper home heating fuel for the homeowner, landlord, commercial truckers, commuters, small shops, mechanics and what not, higher landscape quotes for the suburban blind. Those who can afford the increases will pay it and more of those will take a mortal leap into a black hole of poverty.
This should tell you if sanctions are in the best interest of the nation or in the best interest of US oil companies who can't knock out the competition in any other way but through a coup and by use of force.

  15. So , let's see… By placing sanctions on Venezuela , making the peasants even worse off , Bolton wants to create conditions so MORE people have to sell drugs and flee to the U.S. , then be met with a WALL to keep them out , creating even MORE people who hate and want to get even with America . Bolton could care less about American security , he cares about the profits of Big Oil .

  16. The single most important issue in the world today is the real yellow vest movement which targets the head of the snake, the highly criminal globalist cabal and banking elit, destroying us like cancer. They have infiltrated every aspect of our lives and they are inches away from success! This is truly the root of all evil! They are working hard with their msm media to sway people away from what it’s about. You need to cover the true movement and inform people right now. This IS THE TIME. It is now or never. Please do a video on this in depth! Humanity is begging you.
