  1. SHAME on the "The Real News!" Why do you CHOOSE to refuse to discuss the CAFR? For those who are unaware, it's the REAL budget behind govt. funding at the state, local and federal levels! I'm confident that Baltimore has a second "real" set of books, as did Detroit which supposedly was bankrupt. No self-proclaimed "news" reporting entity dare speak its name in public. It's known as the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, otherwise known as the second set of books after your tax dollars have been invested and profits have been hidden and undoubtedly stolen with no one being the wiser. There is NO DOUBT that The Real News is fully aware of what I'm pointing out here, but they are as corrupt a news agency as all the rest. This is why we can't have nice things! No ethics!! No truth! Just deception, distraction and division…

So while the good citizen slaves of Baltimore get screwed out of more of their hard-earned money, yet again, media sources continue to play their part in this charade by presenting only half of the story. Business as usual in America.

  2. 1950 census: 950K in City of Baltimore, 2010 census: 621K. Same water and sewer system designed for 1M people being paid for by 60%. That number is gonna cost, especially on a replacement instead of new install, NO WAY around it. Bad time to be selling bonds too with interest rates where they are at. If Baltimore was smart, it would start a quiet romance with Trump. Him helping poor black folks can get him 3-5% of the national black vote and ensure his re-election. If a Dem Pres made a deal with Baltimore, they would have to for every city, Trump doesn't because they have staked their platform on resisting him. But conflict brings the votes more than lower water bills.

  3. So people are mad they have to pay to make sure they have clean water? I am confused… I bet if they didn't have clean water they would be mad to. It a no win situation for these politicians.

  4. The fact that you can lose your home in Baltimore for having $750 in unpaid water bills yet the Marriott there is $1.5 million behind on its water bills and has faced no consequences shows everything you need to know about capitalism.

  5. Almost certainly the water is full of lead and carcinogens. This is only fair in the new USA. Don't rely on the government reported water tests. And know that 80% of bottled water comes out of municipal taps. And obviously the businesses don't need to pay their water bills, or taxes!

  6. Once again. Corporate government. Fucks poor and disadvantage. Corp who claims 22 bilion profit. Owes 1.4 million. Sends 800.00 get a free pass..The made up law is only applies to you..

  7. Have wages in Baltimore increased by 30%? Where do these people think working people will get the money to afford this? Are the corporations in Baltimore anteing up? I am guessing they have wavers.
