The Evansville Police Department has released body Cam of an officer involved shooting after
Officers respond to the 2600 block of Pollack Avenue
Saturday. Jan 18 at around 1:34 a.m. after a 911 call of a man later identified as Melvin Solomon, 51 who told the dispatcher that he shot someone. When Officers arrived on scene they were confronted with Solomon holding a knife in both hands. The officer told Solomon to drop the knife, Solomon responded “shoot me” then he turned around to go back in the house, this is when the officer involved shooting occurred. Officer shot multiple times hitting Solomon in the arm. Solomon was treated at the hospital and was released since. More details in a briefing of EPD spokesman Sgt. i don't like that they didn't respond to him when he said he wanted to die, and fuck his life.. they're not social workers or therapists but they are there to help, this man needed someone to at least say they cared and he wasn't gonna die today no matter how much he wanted it. he is LITERALLY calling out for help (even thought the help he wants is to die) he needed someone to act like they fucking heard him.. instead he layed on a wet sidewalk screaming that he wanted to die and not one other human said 'we dont want that'

Something I’ve wondered before but never asked, in this situation and others where the suspect claims to have shot someone, at the time of arrest or transfer to a hospital do they do a GSR test on the suspect? I wonder because he appears with knives and I didn’t know if that affected the response the officers have.
What a bad Police shooting, In England the normal Police do not carry guns.
