Canadian County, Oklahoma — On Thursday, January 18, 2024, Trooper Jesse Gregory was talking to the driver of his traffic stop from the passenger side, when a black SUV hit the pulled-over vehicle on Interstate 40 at Cimarron Road, knocking him into a grassy area off the highway. All three individuals involved were treated and released, and Gregory is expected to recover.

Another driver not paying attention where they are going
All charges dropped.
Backup arrived shortly after to finish writing the ticket
As bad as that is, that's why a passenger side approach is very wise especially on the highway.
For the people that thought they did it just to have a better view of the driver, this is why a lot of LEOs started approaching from the passenger side.
Not saying it’s right or wrong, but in Canada we have very very strict laws about passing emergency vehicles. 50km an hour while you pass, pull over to let them pass. We don’t get everything right up here but damn this so so easily avoided. Peace and love from ALBERTA CANADA

Perfect example of target fixation. You go where you look. That officer is gonna feel that in the morning. People in both vehicles are probably a lot worse off. The black vehicle flipped at least once.

Thank God, the cop, didn’t let the white truck go yet, because if he was walking back towards his car, he might’ve been killed by that vehicle

The driver of that black SUV who hit the traffic stop should have it license taken away for a YEAR if not more!, besides being charge with reckless driving. This is why many, if not all, states have laws telling drivers to move over or slow to 55 when there are vehicles with flashers on or emergency lights on, if you don't and are pulled over for it, it's a fine. NO excuse for what happened!
