Austin, Texas — On Sunday, January 21, 2024, at approximately 12:29 a.m., Austin 911 received an emergency call requesting Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at 12310 Uttimer Lane. The caller reported that someone had been stabbed multiple times, and the victim “was bleeding a lot.” The caller further stated that the male suspect who stabbed the victim, was holding a knife and was still inside the residence with a female victim. At approximately 12:33 a.m., the first APD officer was assigned to the call. At approximately 12:36 a.m., Officer Jacob Porter, Officer Valerie Machado, and another officer arrived at the scene in marked police units and wearing distinct APD uniforms. The officers located several people outside of the residence and began to gather information. Officer Cody Crumplar arrived on scene and approached the other officers and the group of people that were in the front yard of the residence. One person in the group appeared to have multiple stab wounds. The injured victim pointed towards the front door of the residence and stated there were other people inside the house. As the officers approached the door of the residence, they heard screaming within the residence.

Due to the immediate need to preserve life and prevent further harm to the individuals inside, the officers decided to make entry through the front door of the residence. At approximately 12:37 a.m., Officer Jacob Porter, Officer Valerie Machado, and Officer Crumplar entered the residence through the front door, which was unlocked. Officers entered the residence and observed the suspect, later identified as Jose Reynaldo Martinez-Argueta. Martinez-Argueta was seen with a knife, holding a female with multiple stab wounds. To protect the life of the victim, the three officers discharged their Department-approved firearms; hitting Martinez-Argueta. At approximately 12:38 a.m., “shots fired” was announced over police radio traffic. Once the scene was made safe and Martinez-Argueta’s knife was secured, officers safely removed the female victim who was being held by Martinez-Argueta out of the residence. Officers then located several other individuals, including three uninjured children, inside the residence. Officers were able to safely escort them out of the residence as well. Officers then provided medical aid to Martinez-Argueta prior to EMS’ arrival on scene.

A third victim with multiple stab wounds, later identified as Maryuri Leticia Reconco-Moncada, was located inside the residence on the floor of a bedroom. Officers attempted to render life-saving measures on her. Unfortunately, at approximately 1:06 a.m., Reconco-Moncada was pronounced deceased. At approximately 1:00 a.m., Martinez-Argueta was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. Detectives assigned to the Homicide and the Special Investigations Unit responded to the scene to investigate. During the investigation, it was determined that Martinez-Argueta and Reconco-Moncada, were in a relationship. Detectives learned that Martinez-Argueta and Reconco-Moncada were involved in a physical disturbance when Martinez-Argueta stabbed Reconco-Moncada, causing her death. Martinez-Argueta also stabbed the other two victims, whom were both taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Both victims have since been released from the hospital and are recuperating from their injuries. Martinez-Argueta is currently charged with one count of 1st degree felony Murder and two counts of 2nd degree felony Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

  1. 1:53 Looks like female LEO panicked and had a negligent discharge, after the suspect was already neutralized by the other 2 male LEO's. Her firearm was just pointing down at the floor and nowhere close to the downed suspect. She seems afraid and looks as if she's never fired a gun before.

  2. What a idiot the last cop was. Just fired a shot in the general direction that could have hit one of the victims. There’s exceptions, but most female cops absolutely suck

  3. lol, 1:52 – This officer has no idea how to aim a gun. Looking down at it, like she's looking at a camera screen to find her shots in the viewfinder. .

  4. Yep, the female officer’s actions were embarrassing. To criticize Austin PD for “diversity” hires is sexist. There have been lots of male officers who have committed irresponsible actions but it’s not attributed to the fact they’re male. What is troubling is that the shooting happened IMMEDIATELY after breaching the house. No announcement to drop the weapon or that they were police.

  5. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

    Oh my god
She lasted this long faking her abilities as a cop and is outed by a youtube video
    I love it

  6. What makes this a complete disaster is the fact the female officer is screaming because she's in shock and is trying to mask it by yelling to avoid having a complete breakdown..

  7. Female officer was not confident in her shot. Had the weapon at low ready and you can see it all over her face that she only fired because the others did.
