Lancaster, California — On February 6, 2024, at 9:28 a.m., Lancaster Station deputies responded to a business in the 43500 block of 20th Street West, Lancaster, regarding a call of a business disturbance. The caller stated a male, armed with a machete, was at the location. The male was later identified as 38-year-old Jonathan Scott Foster of Lancaster. Deputies located Foster standing outside the front entrance to the business with a machete in his hand and an additional machete affixed to his waistband. He was given numerous commands to drop the machete but refused to comply. After several minutes Foster walked into the open business which was occupied by numerous customers. Deputies on scene fired a taser multiple times and launched several 40MM foam batons at Foster, but they had minimal effect.
After the deployment of a third less-lethal weapon attempt, Foster charged at deputy personnel while still armed with the machete and a deputy-involved shooting occurred. Foster sustained several gunshot wounds to his upper and lower torso. Deputies rendered first aid until the arrival of Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics. Foster was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Two machetes, approximately 24 inches in length, were recovered at the scene. There were no other people injured in the incident. During the investigation, investigators discovered that earlier in the day Foster burglarized a local gas station in the city of Lancaster. During the incident, Foster shattered the front glass door to the business and attacked a female employee with the machete. The victim suffered a severe laceration to her hand and was treated at a local hospital.

Smart cop, noticed he shifted slightly to the right to change his backdrop when outside. What I DON'T agree with is not tasering him outside, then allowing him inside to potentially hurt someone. I cringe at this indecision.

That went on for far too long. And never should have been allowed to re-enter the store. Lies, the media, special interest groups, and "Civilian Police Review Boards" in their current form are largely to blame. Too much talking, too many chances, too many unneccessary risks being taken.
The only two statistics that have changed in the past 10 years are the number of uninvolved, innocent citizens injured and killed, and the number of officers injured or killed… both have increased. Conversely, the number of people shot by police has either remained the same or increased. Its almost like the problem really isn't the police, but rather societies perception of police and their duties.
By all means though, lets keep letting unqualified, uninvested, and untrained lay people dictate law enforcement tactics, policy, and law.

Before he went back into the store there was a 10 min conversation with him. During that time someone should have circled back to the loading dock area and told a manager to lock the entire store. The cops were NOT smart because letting him go back into the store could have turned deadly for innocent people. Bad bad bad tactics!!!!!!! Was this in liberal California?

Bodycam #1 the officer was so smart in moving to his right realizin his backstop was the doors and glass vs the back of that wall. Also OMG! Officer #2 cam pointed his firearm at the back of the officer #1 head.. ðŸ˜ðŸ¤¦ Also.. people are absolutely no awareness.. the stupid guy trying to just walk into the store as if nothing was Happening. Officer #1 had to yell at his dumbass to get outta here.. 😂
