Off Duty State Cop Busted for Speeding and Drunk Driving

2. Isn’t a conflict of interest when a cop in the same department conducts the sobriety test? I thought usually another agency would be called in to do the test.

9. The FST is extremely SUBJECTIVE and not objective. He performed the test to almost PERFECT with just losing his balance counting 1022. Even an athlete would have lost balance eventually.
   The cop let him keep going until that inevitability occurred so he could use that as a weapon reason to arrest him
   That is why FST's should be outlawed as they are FLAWED.
   The Breath test is sufficient enough.
   This cop WANTED to gind this guy drunk by making him hold 22 seconds balanced on 1 leg..COME ON…imagine this Fu**er making a 70-80 year old or prosthetic leg or person with a bad knee or knee replacements..
   The FST MUST be abandoned as over-zealous cops use it not as a tool but a weapon.
   I would be interested to know what Trooper Madrid's intoxometer breath test scored.
   As for the reckless speeding, no id, that's a sure conviction but not anything he needs to be worried about losing his job.he should definitely catch a serious suspension for that.
   As for the cop who stopped him, HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED DOING WHAT HE DID.
   I imagine no cop in his barracks trusts him.

10. Yeah this trooper was a Dick for not letting someone else drive his truck home, he’ll have his day in court and when they see the body cam it will be dismissed

15. Just goes to prove the tests mean nothing. As soon as they ask you to do them, you should know you will be arrested. Luckily for him, his lawyer will use the bodycam footage to his advantage, and he will not be convicted.

17. Arresting officer is Raymundo Lujan III, who has an INSANE number of DWI stops. Like, back in 2017 was in the news for arresting over 100 people just 10 months into the year. Something doesn't smell right…

21. I’ve seen loads of drunk people. This guys wasn’t at all drunk. Maybe over the limit in a breathalyzer but not a bit drunk.

28. I wouldnt be able to walk that straight of a line while sober. He wasnt drunk. But still, enough alcohol that couldve effected his driving. The officer was being a power trip. Towed the truck and everything. Dick.

33. Wait, I’m confused… the PBT is voluntary, right? Is New Mexico different? You can usually refuse the FST and PBT, but you MUST take the actual Breathalyzer back at station or consent to a Blood Teat. Seemed to me like he was telling him he’d automatically lose his license for refusing a PBT.

38. First time I've seen someone smoke every single test. And then as a cop himself should know to shut up and he could have beat that. I could do those test 10x sober and wouldn't have scored as good as him. I truly believe he did only have 2 beers which doesn't excuse the fact that drinking and driving is for punks

44. In Albuquerque, dirty cops were arresting people for supposed DUI then not showing up to court because they got kick backs or some other incentive from a dirty lawyer. It’s big local NM news right now. Over 150 cases were just dismissed by the DA because these cops are too dirty to be believed. Makes me wonder what this arrest was really about. Sad that increasingly law enforcement is tough to trust.

48. From what I saw… He passed those tests with flying colors. He could have easily made it home safely. I don't agree with this arrest at all. I think that cop was just trying to make an example out of him. Smh
