Vancouver, Washington, USA — On June 8, 2024, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Vancouver Police were dispatched to the 100 block of SE Columbia Way regarding a male, later identified as 43-year-old Vadim Sashchenko, who had an aggressive German Shepard that was reported to be running loose and had bitten at least one person. Sashchenko was also described as having a firearm. At approximately, 2:59 p.m., two Vancouver Police Officers locate Sashchenko and his dog in the area of Columbia Street/Columbia Way. One officer approached from the north; the other officer approached from the south.

As Sashchenko walked northbound on the sidewalk across from one of the arriving officer’s patrol vehicle, he displayed what appeared to be a gun and pointed it at the officer. The officer discharged his gun, striking Sashchenko. As the officers approached Sashchenko to provide medical aid, the dog was behaving aggressively and trying to bite them. The officers used a foam baton round to get the dog to move away before trying to provide medical aid to Sashchenko. Sashchenko died at the scene. The dog was later transported to the Humane Society. No law enforcement officers or bystanders were physically injured.

  2. the only person i feel bad for is that cop who had to shoot the less lethal at the dog. the shep was just protecting and staying loyal to his owner. he had no clue what was going on :-/ but obviously i understand, you can’t take the risk of getting chewed up by a dog while dealing with a suspect who just tried to shoot a cop.

  3. -"Why did the cop shoot him?"

He pointed it at them 2 seconds prior, he kept walking (as he turned away from the cop and started reaching into his waistband or bag), didn't put his hands in the air and/or start to get on the ground.

  4. Waiting for the officer to get out of the car to toss the gun so he wouldnt notice? Is he trying to give his family a reason to sue? I mean thats more fucked than Self delete by cop (if this is the case, just what it kinda looks like to me)

  5. 他已经把枪扔掉了,仍然遭到警察的枪击,这就是事实!

  6. " 4:49 You can "40" the dog" i thought that was code for something 😂 nope they literally 40d the dog. didn't know that was a thing they did
