  1. I got a pristine-bodied '02 330xi (AWD) that had been sitting in the woods next to a highway buried up to it's floor pans for only $250. The owner said "it ran when I parked it" – but that they parked it there because it wouldn't go over 25 MPH and they were tired of fixing it. Long-story-short, after throwing some air in the tires and attaching a jump box to it, it started on the FIRST try and drove home 25 miles with NO problems other than severely degraded braking, due to rust on the rotors. It had EVERY single e46 problem, but after a mere $2400 investment in parts (a very long list of parts) it's back on the road and going strong trouble-free for three years so far. And it's AWD to boot!

  2. Ah these youngsters. They think that because the steering is heavy when stationary, it's as heavy while driving. I actually prefer the weight of non-power steering. Sure, you can't park as easy but it's a LOT better while driving. Especially fast driving.
