Hundreds of women are part of a lawsuit against Dr. David Broadbent, a gynecologist who has allegedly abused patients at his Provo, Utah office for decades. The lawsuit was allowed to move forward after the state’s Supreme Court determined that “sexual assault is not health care” and does not qualify for a medical malpractice claim. Law&Crime’s Elizabeth Millner spoke with the attorney behind the civil suit, Adam Sorenson, and one of the alleged victims, Brooke Heath.

This needs to be evaluated at every hospital in every state, immediately: because I know for a fact that it occurs in many other places besides Utah.

Larry Nassar who had 1,200 victims also conducted his "adjustments" with a parent in the room at times. He simply had developed techniques to perform his "penetrations" without detection. If it had not been for the relentless publishing by the Indiana Star newspaper it is unlikely any investigation would have taken place. This is even after the FBI had been badgered to accept the responsibility to investigate and completely dropped the ball. After the publicity and attention turned to University of Michigan due to Nassar several Doctors were also found to be accused (many multiple allegations) from this campus and facility.

The women also consistently reported that nurses in the room didn’t intervene. One woman claims in the suit that after Broadbent painfully groped her genitals, “The nurse just rolled her eyes, asked if he was done then quickly left.”

Not ok. Traumatic gaslighting in a controlled setting. I have more empathy for the women who hadn't known what properly is to be her right to expect.
He knew who would be more easily used in his business. Targets were set on a bed for him.
He will forever now be a target.
