Learn how to detail a car with faded, scratched, paint. I will show you how to do paint correction by hand, how to remove swirl marks, how to restore faded trim, how to restore headlights, and finally how to fix sun damaged paint. I got this car for $500 and it wasn’t running and was super dirty. Now the car runs and looks dripping wet!

  1. Hopefully you guys like the video! It's basically 4-5 videos in one with tons of info on how to get your car clean!

So we can avoid the same comments over and over, check the description for all the links! Also, yes, ChrisFish is me, and not an impostor. It is my second channel I will start this year for when I go fishing, which I love to do. It is my way of still "working" and not feeling bad about going out fishing instead of filming, editing, or answering comments. Now I can do both!
Here is the detailing products I used: Ceramic Coating: https://avl.kg/ceramiccoating
    Compound: https://amzn.to/2UboLg7

    Polish: https://amzn.to/3adde5g

    Wax/Sealant: https://amzn.to/2U9nMwF

  2. I tried compounding polishing and waxing my car today, as the roof was pretty faded and dull from the sun. It didnt seem like the clear coat was burnt straight off though, looked like that front quarter panel.
After I was done, the result was absolutely unnoticeable. The only difference in what I did was that I used a little waterless wash and wax to remove the compound and polish since they got VERY stiff and dry and my microfiber towel was spreading them more than it was removing them, and I didn't wait 2 mins to remove the wax.

    What did I do wrong?

  3. I really am happy I found your channel, I've always worked on cars a bit with my dad but am no mechanic, but recently I've had a lot of interest in fixing cars. These videos are a wealth of information on a lot of different things, and even more so I love the enthusiasm for teaching others and helping them learn to fix their own things, it's really wonderful to have someone teach so much, thank you!

  4. @chrisFix
I followed these exact steps but after I apply the compound and Shine then buff, how do I prevent swirl marks because it just doesn’t blend in like yours! 😵‍💫

  5. I did the headlight restoration the same but added some headlight coating rather than ceramic coating. The headlight is clear but has a yellowish tint to it, is this because of the coating or should i have used 4000 grit sandpaper too?

  6. My goodness, this video is really helpful, i feel a lot more confident when it comes to needing to repaint my car, but i have a lot more damage to repair, peeling clear coat (bonnet/hood basically has nothing left, fender is peeling, trunk lid is peeling and just worn out and chipped paint everywhere. Such a poorly maintained vehicle, but, these videos of repairing and correcting from A-Z is a lifesaver, thanks Chris, keep this up, love every one of em!

  7. I wish I could work on my own car without going completely freaking insane the second I run in to trouble. One of my spark plugs stoped firing and I couldn’t find my spark plug socket so I threw a bottle jack through the windshield. Then I ran up on my car with pick ax and beat the dog piss out of it. My mom got so scared of the insane way I was acting she called the law and they came out and saw me out in the driveway with no shirt on screaming my head off. One of the two cops axx DC Jed me to calm down but it was way too late for that so I just started chasing them around my car until I got tased

  8. So I watched this video was so excited to restore my trailblazer finally have the 02 red/ maroon looking normal. All it did was put an amazing shine on the fade. I watched so many videos I guess if to much clear is gone then paint it’s self most lose its pigment. What’s your opinion??

  9. Dude, dude, DUUUUDE, you are a car GOD !!!

Also, your video making and content creating skills is amazing. I don’t say this to everyone.

I have a question, too. It’s impossibly difficult for me to tell at a given time in most of your video whether your voice is a voice over later added to the video or recorded simultaneously with the video.

Is there a rule of thumb for me to figure it out in your videos? How often do you voice over if you voice over at all? It’s just bugging me so bad man, sorry. 😆
