My Top of the Line Range Rover is Stuck DEAD in a Field. Fixing it Seems Impossible…

2. we modified our slide hammer, made it longer and the weight was heavier
   worked on all eight like a charm. no way original slide hammer would remove stucked injectors

5. Loosen fuel rail, yoink fuel pump relay, try starting it. Let compression push the injectors out… remember the loosen fuel rail step? yeah don't pull the rail off you may end up with flying injectors. Is this the proper way to do it? Hell no, but you gotta listen to step mom and not be a pussy. Also works on diesels for those stubborn injectors or when you forgot your injector pry bar at home.(Source: worked on many a heavy diesel truck, got tired of struggling with coked injectors on some of the egr motors)

7. Aother suggestion would be put a load of tension on the cherry picker and add force with the slide hammer, even if you had to modify it first. I wonder if the factory uses some hi-temp grease when they install these? Sometimes a dry install is actually better – I've known Coppaslip to dry out and act like glue.

10. Many years ago, I had a problem similar to yours, different tech though. I was able to apply ice to the item in question, making it shrink enough for my pulling to work. Do not know if it applies in your case.

12. Would it help if you pressurised the cylinder with air via the spark plug hole by screwing in a air valve and making sure that all intake and exhaust valves are closed ? The extra press while you’re pulling on the fuel injector might make it a lot easier

19. May I suggest removing the entire engine and transmission and dispose in junk yard, next replace with LS and transmission.😂

20. Why not put an inspection camera into the plug holes and see which one is leaking ?. Maybe warm up the engine with an electric fan heater first ?. Hind sight is a wonderful thing but might have been an idea to test the injectors in the car first ?. Mechanics stethoscope could be useful.

23. The way to remove those type of stuck injectors is soak the base of the injector with WD40. Keep spraying it towards the lower part of the injector.. If need be soak overnight. It will slowly drip down to the base of the injector to free it up. You'll know when it's free when you can turn the injector back and forth. But don't use too much force doing that. It will free up.

24. Take out all the crappy motor and tranny, drop in a Toyota drive train and you'll have something.

37. I wonder if you spray some decarbonisation cleaner in the cylinder from the spark plug hole putting the spark plug back compressing it under compression each cylinder and leave it for a little while to dissolve the carbon around the injector acetone might work as well
