Her hair drives me crazy. It's distracting.
My guess is that Carmen hinted at the fact that Jack might not be or wasn't his son before, once or multiple times thus, excluding Brad from Jack's life somehow. Brad was probably attached to the child he raised so he decided that his life with his son would be better if Carmen was out of the picture. That's my best guess for the murder planning, as for his friends silence, he probably convinced them that Carmen was a prostitute who's planning to take his son away from him, and that he snapped and didn't mean to kill her🤷♀️
