‘Bring It On’: Accused Husband Killer Kouri Richins Suffers Loss in Court Before Hearing – Everything Law and Order Blog

Kouri Richins, the Utah woman accused of murdering her husband, Eric, by poisoning him with fentanyl, appeared in court with her new lawyers. Richins’ former lawyer, Skye Lazaro, filed a motion asking to disqualify Summit County prosecutors from the case as she claimed they listened to jail calls between Kouri and one of her lawyers. Prosecutors said the claim had no merit. The motion by Lazaro came as she was withdrawing from the case citing a conflict and Kouri declared to Dateline NBC “this is war.” Law&Crime’s Angenette Levy outlines the latest in the case with Greg Skordas. the spokesperson for Eric Richins’ family in this episode of Crime Fix — a daily show covering the biggest stories in crime.

  1. Wait until some of these haters of that wife, their in this situation, even something small, you’ll see how judges favor prosecutors and jurors bully jurors to convict bc they think if you have enough evidence to bring someone to trial, they are guilty. Heck that’s so wrong. It happens in every case. No longer innocent until proven guilty

  2. So guilty and guess what I am on the jury board but I’m not sure if it’s this one or another one, they’re gonna call me if they need me believe me. I feel like she’s guilty jailbird!!!!

  3. I am happy to hear Eric's family is holding up well with how long this is taking. It's got to be hard I'm sure. I agree her being locked up and away for her children is the best outcome right now. I pray justice will come for Eric his children and family soon.

  4. It’s wild to me that anybody today would tell a cover story that doesn’t match with their cell phone’s movements on the night in question. That was one of the first things that provoked the cops suspicions, which caused a larger investigation. She told them she was asleep in the other room on the night her dear ol’ hubby died, but in fact her cell phone recorded movement the entire night and showed her not sleeping at all. Whoops…

  5. Kouri is definitely guilty and killed her husband because he didn't want her buying that mansion. She had a motive. She just doesn't want to take responsibility. The fact that her own lawyer removed herself from the case says a lot about her guilt.

  6. They all use delay tactics. Basically digging a deeper hole to crawl out of…Nevertheless there’ll be a jail cell on the other side of that hole.
Very hard on the victims as the pain continues and closure is postponed indefinitely.
The poor children. The trauma they’re left with which wasn’t their own to hold in the first place.
She didn’t write a book about that
