A woman in Iowa is accused of trying to poison her husband by spiking his drink with eye drops not once — but twice. Daisy Zantjer’s husband reported the alleged poisoning after he was sent to the hospital. If these were bad Palo Alto police they would have gaslit the guy, asked if if he had been drinking, or doing drugs.. “If your wife was poisoning you, how does that make you feel? Scared? Looks she is so smiley, Maybe you need a mental evaluation, if you think your wife is poisoning you.”
Bad Palo Alto Police would never would test to find actual evidence of poisoning and they guy might have died. And they would criticize him for calling the police.

My best friend at the time, a long time ago, had a sister who'd been to culinary school and was the head chef in a chic French restaurant in Washington DC, and when they had "difficult" clients who'd send their food back, they all used to put eye drops in the food. It was like a well known thing with restaurant staff! I had absolutely no idea at the time that it could be lethal!!!
