Former ballerina Ashley Benefield is accused of killing her husband, Douglas Benefield, in September 2020. The Florida couple were in the middle of a heated custody battle when Ashley shot Doug. Prosecutors believe Ashley murdered Doug so she could gain full custody of their young daughter, however, Ashley claims she shot Doug in self-defense after months of alleged abuse. The medical examiner does not believe Doug was facing Ashley when she fired off four rounds at him.

I don’t know what it is about this one. I have only watched the trial to this point no outside commentary and I thinks she is guilty. I think she is manipulating everyone. Anyone else?

It's interesting that the defense tried to bring in all this theory, wheels of fortune, stories of other people etc, but not one eyewitness of the alleged violence, not one person she told contemporaneously about the alleged abuse. They'd bring a clairvoyant to testify if the judge allowed it!
It's crazy how much time, work, effort and other resources it takes to lock up one criminal! 🤯
My opinion: she should have never taken the stand!

What’s the point of getting a restraining order and trying to go to the police to document the stalking and abuse? They’re ordered to leave you alone and they don’t. The stalking and psychological abuse is sometimes worse than physical. Nobody takes it seriously until the abuser kills you. When you use self defense and end up charged with murder, all of the times you’ve tried to get help are hearsay. THIS is why women stay and try to get along.
The prosecutors argument about the domestic violence wheel is absolutely ridiculous. The prosecutor is trying to argue that domestic violence isn’t domestic violence basically. It’s patronising and victim blaming. There was evidence that this guy had emotional and behavioural problems in two different relationships.

Abuse of injunction system if she wanted him arrested for sending a dang gift…screeching at the police officer? She had a plan from the get go..his attorney tried to warn him….

I am struggling to understand how ANYONE could believe that this woman is innocent…..by any stretch of the means. I am completely unbiased on this case. I could care less whether she gets off or she doesn't. But I have watched every single day without skipping a beat. Not once did I even question or lean towards believing the self-defense narrative.
What confused me is that he was coming towards her from the door she shoots his he falls backwards but yet the offers say they seen his legs in the doorway from the hall.
So if he falls backwards whilst she is shooting from in the room wouldn’t his head be at the door not his legs?
This case was over when the investigator said she called him over and over and finally said she would do what ever it took to keep Doug away from her child. And was screaming this in an irrational way. Case closed!!!!
Clearly he didn’t know she was planning on not being with him! She used him to move her out the house but had no intention of having him back! The Wednesday hearing is proof of that! She’d moved on with someone else! She misled him! He found out at the house while moving & clearly became enraged! Which she knew he would! Said you are done as in, “I want a divorce”! IMO she had the gun ready to take him out or told him knowing he wld retaliate, on hearing b/f & cc! She knew he’d be upset! She was a regular at the shooting range knew what she was doing! The bullets all low down cld be that he was probs shot in the leg first to stop him, he fell to the side & next bullet shot while he was down on his side! She certainly had motives for having him dead! Loosing her court cases over visitation, no proof of DV so she was loosing that, a new lover & a move to a new house in a new state!
