This once happened in Broward County Florida when a Trooper stopped a Broward Sheriffs Office Captain head in an unmarked unit to a murder in South Broward. That Trooper was arrested right on the side of I-95 during the stop for Obstructing an official investigation! The Deputies put the Trooper in their car and took him straight to jail. They actually left his patrol unit running on the side of I-95. Once they got the Trooper to jail, they called the local State Patrol Office to let them know they have arrested a Trooper and that his unit was on the side of the road running! That Trooper was immediately terminated!!!

Troopers jurisdiction are the interstates. Cops jurisdiction are the streets of the city. Highway patrol's jurisdictions are county roads and highways.
Troopers have zero respect for local cops. And both of them look down on Sheriff's deputies.
