“It’s Not a Gun Bro” – LAPD Footage Shows Suspect Holding Car Part – Everything Law and Order Blog

We’ve all seen the recent shooting footage out of Ohio. But that may have overshadowed another recent case where body cam footage was just released from the LAPD. Body cam footage reveals that just before officers shot an unarmed man holding an automotive part, that one of the officers said to the others, “it’s not a gun bro.” Then he was shot with no warning. Indeed, it wasn’t a gun.

  1. Wow, as a brit in Ho Chi Minh city I can tell you that america is scary man, U can lose your life so easily when cops are around. Then you go to war in other countries to protect human rights. What about back at home?? That is one messed up country. U guys should come and live here. We-re poor, but it-s safe.

  2. It's amazing to me how many police officers do not know what a gun is! Apparently police officers are all stupid! To admit on body camera and to anybody else, that they don't know what something is, is amazing! Do you know exactly what it is, a camera! But so many police officers are unwilling to admit that they know what that is!

  3. The Number One thing to remember when you become an Officer know that when someone is Read the Miranda they Never have to answer any question you ask them!!!!!!!!!!

  4. It’s more obvious that if you are wearing a Law Enforcement uniform and you seriously can’t tell the difference between a weapon or a different object such as a part of a vehicle?? You should not be wearing a Law enforcement uniform but if you are currently armed and easily excited should never be employed again and wearing only a Orange Prison Jumpsuit with DOJ on the back

  5. The problem here is that the LAPD has spent decades establishing themselves as a serious threat to guys who look like the guy in the video. He was terrified, his actions aren't surprising at all.

  6. Almost as bad as the cops who harassed and assaulted a blind Veteran, saying his white cane looked like a firearm. 'Citizens' who make false reports should be investigated and charged.

  7. The lack of gun safety here is unbelievable in a neighborhood with kids the just start shooting wildly at a unarmed man. This looks more like a gang shooting ,the guy probably thought he was getting jumped. The courts will cover it up ,and give this poor soul a few bucks and that is the end of that

  8. This is a huge problem cops kill people for no reason that man was running to save his life because he knows cops kill people especially people of color. This cop should be in prison and the city should be sued for millions this is why people do not trust cops they shoot and ask questions later when it's too late.

  9. It appears that these armed defenders of the law are actually itching for a reason to use the gun that's issued to them. All of these video encounters with the police show the direct escalation when the demand for ID is made. Trying to subdue a suspect with handcuffs is also the problem.

  10. The cops get too quick to shoot there's no reason for this guy to be shot to begin with they had no proof he was the guy with the gun you don't just shoot someone and ask questions later I hope his family sues the hell out of them and the other cop plainly said that's not a gun so there's no way for him to lie

  11. Is running away, grounds for extrjudicial homicide, or summary execution? Police, have an emotional response to insubordinate behavior. Why, not just let the guy run away? Or, drive away? The other cops told the shooter he didn’t have a gun. Trigger happy, and yes, racist police let their emotions rationalize their killing an unarmed man. Not to mention the litany of well worn excuses. Resisting, hands in pockets, we got a call, fleeing, I thought I saw a gun, he turned, I was afraid for my life, failure to ID, and last but not least, he was black with dreadlocks! Also, "I was tired of chasing the guy with all my battlefield military equipment on!” They guy could have been cold stone deaf, or autistic, emotionally damaged. Now, dead.

  12. Hey folks, the people that called 911 may have been reporting an actual armed suspect. The reported description from dispatch does not match the shooting victim, Green long sleeve shirt. Also, the female caller stated the person she reported with a gun was going North on Degnan. Just because the police shot a black man does not mean they shot the same black man that was reported to 911.

  13. if it were dark and the officer didnt just hear "its not a gun bro" i MIGHT be able to give the cop the benefit of the doubt. that cop just shot some dude in the back for no reason. he should go for murder

  14. Absolutely no the officer should not have fired at the man. He had no idea what the man had and was running away from the officer. Shooting a man in the back like that is the act of a total coward.

  15. Hey here is an idea, lets just outlaw hoodies. It seems literal idiots are dressing in black and looking shady why just walking down a sidewalk. I men this case dude just kept walking. He was probably confused why cops are chasing him happen to fits a certain profile. Just stop wearing plain black hoodies and have some fashion flair. Clearly police see this and go oh oh look its the target we shoot at. This is clearly an excessive force and unnecessary escalation of force.

  16. Maybe there needs to be a change in policing questions first then gunshots if necessary. Right after death or grievous injury to a member of the public is a bad time to start gathering facts.
