Alexee Trevizo allegedly dumped her newborn in the trash after giving birth in the bathroom of a New Mexico hospital in January 2023. Trevizo is charged with first-degree murder, or alternatively abusing a child resulting in death and tampering with evidence. Her defense won a legal battle to prevent some of the evidence from being presented to a jury in her trial. Prosecutors are now fighting back, claiming the evidence is key and should not be suppressed based on patient-physician privilege. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber breaks down what this means for Trevizo.

I'm thankful to my mom when she dropped me off at college, she told me if I got pregnant that she'd help me, that she wouldn't be mad. I didn't even have a boyfriend and I was too young to take this seriously. Now in my 30s, I realize how kind she was. Way kinder than this girl's mother. What do you think would compell this 19 year old to do something so horrible? I think her mother and father are probably responsible as well for making pregnancy the end of the world for this young lady.

The autopsy shows that baby was breathing it was not born dead! It also shows it was asphixiated it'll be more than interesting! And that young lady acts like she was more afraid of her mother than haveing that baby or the police or the medical personel combined!

The presence of a third party parent or otherwise waves privilege as it pertains to attorney client privilege and you are saying that is the same privilege as physician patient privilege therefore she waived her privilege. If police are present and the the patient is speaking and they overhear the conversation as long as the patient was not providing information at the direction of police or under police custody then there is no right under Miranda.
I feel like the mother here is a large reason as to why her daughter acted this way. Of course nobody but Lexi is responsible for killing the baby. But both mother and daughter seem to refer to the baby as "it" and seem to only care about themselves and not the baby. If she really was afraid her mom would find out about the baby, she could have called for help from the bathroom and tell the medical staff that her mom was not allowed to know as she is a legal adult. If she wanted to she could've put up the child for adoption right there and then, there was no logical reason to kill the baby, it seems like she simply "Didn't want to put up with this"
This is just like the blonde girl who buried her newborn in her back garden. She said it was stillborn but the texts after the birth showed no remorse. These girls just wanted their babies to "go away" so they could get in shape and go to prom.

Don't they make every patient sign the HIPPA understanding before treatment? She is over 18 and having her mom shouldn't change anything!!! The thing is, I think they were trying to figure out was going on before they knew if they had to read miranda rights or not. The worst thing about this was, "…Nothing wasn't crying…" Calling it a"Nothing" shows lack of emotions. She knowingly covered up the murder obviously. She needs life in prison.
In New Mexico there are Safe Haven laws. She is literally in a hospital. Therefore, she had no excuse to do it.
