It’s always better to be silent try not to show I’d but this guy was nice. This county must have half its residents seeing the in federal court, they payout millions in lawsuits. They have a lawsuit lottery going on there.

Also, any time that the police bring a witness to a scene of a stop and hold, many witnesses will believe that the police have the right person already. This can resolve itself with false charges.

I'm glad that the story had a happy ending, but I find it hard to believe that there's nothing wrong with the police stopping and detaining any person in the area who roughly fits the description of a criminal, especially when the description is as vague as gender, race, and type of the clothing. So would they also be allowed to detain literally every single black male in the area (whatever arbitrary distance that extends to) with a tank top? If all they had was "white male in shorts and t-shirt," would they be able to put any white male in shorts and a t-shirt nearby in cuffs? It seems absurd when you take the logic to its full conclusion.

Secondly, why keep him in handcuffs if he was being friendly, cooperative, and not attempting to leave the detainment? It's embarassing to be seen in your own neighborhood in cuffs at the side of the road surrounded by policemen. Seeing that he was clearly exercising and wasn't otherwise acting suspicious in any way, shape, or form, they should have let him go. He certainly should not have been in handcuffs at any point.

Finally, if nothing wrong occured, then why extend the offer to have him speak at implicit bias training?

I think the officers get a B for using more force than necessary to detain the individual and failing to use common sense discretion to let the guy go after they initially talked to him. He dispelled their suspicion almost immediately by presenting his ID and by his demeanor– he was cooperative, friendly, and not at all acting suspicious. You could tell how disarmed the police were around him and it's because they knew he wasn't the guy. Sure, they were not legally wrong, but that man did not need to be in cuffs and they wasted his time.

He might have stole a leaf blower. Where did he hide it? Is that a leaf blower in your shorts or are you glad to see me?

You really couldn't get a better example than this. I agree. Everyone in this video did an amazing job at working together and staying calm. I hope that someday this will be the normal way things are done.

The only reason this stop went well is because the first officer was all kind to the guy, and explained everything to him and was courteous. Innocent until proven guilty.

Had the first guy gone in with guns drawn and telling him to go down and tase him and hands up and whatnot, then the outcome could have been different.

This episode had me smiling so much, the way both the officers and Mr. Griffin carried themselves was so commendable, which truly shows there are good officers out there truly making a difference. This is how all officers should strive to carry out their duties.

You see, even if it's scary to be stopped by the US Police, it's always better to remain calm and respectful.
No need to fight.
Of course i don't mean it's always gonna be fine and you won't have to defend your rights. But it's really better to have self-control.
Some people, like me, learned self control very late (i'm 56). But really, your interactions with other human beings are better and it makes you feel free and much happier.
Of course i'm not victim of racism and i have an easy life. But anyway i know i'm right.

I've had this happen to me.

At 4:40 the officer says, you're not under arrest. But the jogger is being put in handcuffs. He was calmly speaking with the officer. That strikes me as terribly wrong that he was handcuffed.
