What if he WASNT flying over his property why would that be an issue?
Cops make me sick at how stupid they are
How do exigen circumstances fit into the legal doctrine if the police did manage to take his drone and phone? Then just simply charge him with disturbing their investigation and harassing said officers with the drone?
He wouldnr be able to provide proof against the officers claims because the drone telemetry data is on the drone which is no longer with him and the video on his phone of the event can be wiped.
That would be destruction of evidence but then theres the issue of qualified immunity in this specific case or the fact they could claim they wanted to probe the phone further for more evidence and entered in the wrong password so many times the phone wiped itself (if the owner had that option enabled).
I am just imagining how many ways exigen circumstances can be abused to silence an individual.
I’m a ex military special forces navy veteran and i use to respect law enforcement all the way but now I realize they trying to take away the very freedom and things I fought bleed and watch many brothers die for i remember years back people wanted to defend and do away with police and I thought them people was crazy but I come to realize in the last few years if we did away with police and the citizen were allowed to defend and take care of their home and land and lives i really believe you will see 80% drop in all crime and we would have a lot better America more more I see police officer and the justice system is not about justice. It’s just about money and the government has figured out how to give Joe blow a little bit of power to make him feel special by calling him a police and telling him he protecting our streets, when it’s not about protecting the street, it’s about getting money people don’t realize law enforcement with fines and ticket and citations that is at over $200 billion year revenue for the government and that’s not even counting other legal stuff and I’ve done a study where 8 out 10 Criminals become repeat offenders because of the label on their name that prevents them or makes it very hard for them to ever become a good earning job and 7 out the 8 Makes a long-term courier out of being a criminal because they know they’re only going to get a slap on their hand and that slap on the hand is easier to deal with them actual working hard to become someone and police officer and law enforcement, makes it harder and does more damage to a good law abiding citizen then they do to criminals

Generally speaking, cops get back what they give. They can avoid a lot of s**t….by not dispensing a lot of s**t! It's that simple.The interchange between officer #2 and the citizen reflected a professional escalation, in my opinion……..sadly becoming more and more rare these days.
Eh, C, just a straight C. He was on his property, they had no reason to bother him or detain him. Being odd isn't a crime, and those boneheads sure acted like it was. I also take a full letter grade off because they got into the "well can't you see if from my side" loop. I do not care about your side. Your job is to be professional and follow the laws. If I have not broken the law, it doesn't matter what you THINK is happening. You're wrong.

I can't help but notice that the police didn't ask for the registration of his assault weapon or his license to own a gun, nope, just about the drone! There is something morally and mentally wrong with a country that has more regulation and laws for drones than guns and assault weapons!!! Especially when considering how many daily shootings and the mass shootings!!
Crazy how cops get so worked over when somebody knows their rights, when will these dipshits ever learn that the public has been pushed to THEIR limits with the harassment and violation of rights, with the future officers being taught the same old textbook policies it's only going g to gwt worse. So a flashlight outside means responding with bulletproof armor, AR 15, and drone surveillance of cops is ‘necessary’ to defend your life. Sounds like a little b#*%h to me

As i understand it (and according to my local county deputies), the castle doctrine & stand your ground covers your whole property…in my case, 11 acres. Dound out about this after dealing muktiples with an armed felon crackhead.
You can't know in advance if a trespasser is going to just rob you or if they want to kill you. It's entirely reasonable to pull out a gun when you see a trespasser. Besides that, the idea that you have to wait for an armed intruder to actually try to kill you before defending yourself is utterly insane. Why the fuck are these cops wasting their time trying to get a warrant for his drone anyway?

Stand your ground is an incredibly important right that all Americans should have. Maybe not so much in public, but on your property, Absofuckinglutely.
It really makes me wonder how many times cops have sized cell phones with recording with evidence that the cops were abusing power and actually deleted the photos/videos of the tyranny. I have heard about several cases of that happening. This guy was cordial, aside from a couple snarky remarks, but I feel it went well. Either way, know your rights, always film, and go thru proper channels.

The drone was the reason they came to man's home. They did not like being watched. So they had no reason to begin with. Found a man with vest and gun. . So now you think that gives cops the reason to have concerns. But you state it as the reason they were investigating before the drone became involved. If the cops had not been irritated at being watch via drone. Then they would have never seen the man with his gun and safety vest.
